Right now, Liu Sui is the only one who can save us. However, the guy has such a peculiar temper that I’m worried he won’t help.

The most critical issue is that he is elusive. In the middle of the night, where am I supposed to find him?

Li Xiang and Hu Tou, completely unaware of their predicament, finished their showers and climbed into their respective beds. Hu Tou started playing a game, while Li Xiang was on the phone with someone, chuckling happily.

As for me, I left the dormitory in a state of unease. Before long, I arrived at the dormitory manager’s office.

I had never paid much attention to Liu Sui before, knowing only that he was a cleaner at the school. It was only when I truly needed to find him that I realized I knew absolutely nothing about him. Stepping into the office, I found I couldn’t describe him to the manager. Finally, I said, "The mute cleaner. Do you know where he lives?"

At that, the manager had a sudden realization. "Why didn't you just say so earlier?"

Seeing he understood, I quickly asked if he knew the location. However, the manager shook his head.

In school, the dormitory manager is something of a know-it-all, as he manages the housing for thousands of students; a single lapse could spell disaster. That was why I had chosen to ask him first. But with him not knowing, I was immediately at a loss.

Still, the campus is only so big. I refused to believe I couldn't find where Liu Sui lived. After leaving the office, I went to the teaching building and the girls' dormitory. Finally, I arrived in front of an abandoned teaching building on campus.

It was said that this building had been derelict for years; rumors claimed people had died there, and it was even said to be haunted.

The building had long been neglected, with no one to clean it. The tree branches surrounding it grew in a tangled mess, reaching out like withered chicken claws. The building was submerged within these skeletal limbs, looking exceptionally eerie.

I didn't dare to go any further. I merely took a couple of glances from the outside and turned to leave.

Just then, a figure appeared inside the abandoned building.

I gasped. This was a haunted building, after all. Seeing someone appear out of the blue made my heart go cold. I hunched my shoulders, looking at the figure with trepidation.

The sky was dark, and the figure was incredibly blurry as it appeared on the plaza outside. At that moment, it was walking step-by-step toward the iron gate.

The closer he got, the more overwhelmed I felt. Although he looked like a person, I couldn't bring myself to think of him as one.

He reached the iron gate, where a dim yellow light happened to shine down on him.

In that instant, I saw him clearly. My heart gave a violent jolt, followed by even deeper confusion.

The figure emerging from the abandoned building was none other than Liu Sui.

What on earth was he doing in this haunted building in the dead of night?

After the initial fear, curiosity took over.

Liu Sui closed the iron gate and turned to walk in another direction. Without a word, I followed him stealthily. We hadn't gone far when I noticed a small shack not far from the building. Its door was tightly shut, but a faint, yellowish light filtered through the window.

Liu Sui walked straight to the shack, pulled open the door, and went inside. I stopped and wiped the cold sweat from my face.

I never could have imagined that Liu Sui would live in such a place.

My confusion regarding him only deepened. Who was this person? First, I had witnessed his methods a few days ago—his movements were shockingly fast and his strength immense, rivaling that of special forces. Second, today, after he had dumped trash on the three of us in our dorm, we had found mysterious talismans on our bodies. And now, I had caught him acting suspiciously in this abandoned building.

Putting it all together, I started to wonder: was Liu Sui really just a cleaner?

Before I could think further, the door of the shack opened again. Liu Sui walked out carrying a bundle. I was thrilled to see him; after all, I had come here specifically to find him. However, I didn't step forward to call out. I wanted to see what he was up to.

Once Liu Sui left, he headed in another direction across campus. As soon as he was out of sight, I darted forward—but not to follow him. Instead, I rushed toward the shack. I was far more curious about this house.

When Liu Sui had emerged earlier, I had seen the light through the window. It was strange—why would he leave the light on if he wasn't inside? Was there someone else in there?

With that thought, I reached the door and pressed my ear against it, listening intently. Yet, there was only dead silence. There was no sound at all. But when I checked the window, the light was still on.

I couldn't help but gently push the door open. I saw a pendant lamp hanging inside, the source of that yellow glow. The room was furnished with extreme simplicity: a bed, two chairs, a table, and a few basic kitchen utensils.

On the bed lay a person, perfectly still. At the sight of them, I was so startled that I instinctively slammed the door shut with a loud bang.

However, the person on the bed didn't react at all. I couldn't tell if they were asleep. My courage bolstered, I pushed the door open and stepped inside.

My eyes remained fixed on the person on the bed.

Suddenly, my body stiffened, and I stood there, dumbfounded.

The person lying on the bed was Jin Yuan—the spendthrift from our dorm.

What was going on?

"It's you?" Liu Sui’s voice suddenly rang out from behind me.

Before I could turn around, he had walked up to me and clapped his hands together. "What are you doing here?"

I pointed at Jin Yuan. "What is the meaning of this? Who are you, really?"

"You mean him? He's fine. He'll be better in a few days. As for who I am, that's not important." As he spoke, Liu Sui set down his bag and picked up a bowl from the stack of kitchenware.

"Let's go," he said, giving me a nudge.

I looked at him, bewildered. "Where are we going?"

"You came to find me, didn't you? You want me to help you deal with that telephone ghost, right? Why are you still standing there?"

Hearing this, I was even more shocked. "You knew everything?"

Liu Sui didn't say anything more but carried the bowl toward the boys' dormitory. I was anxious the whole way, unable to stop myself from glancing at him repeatedly.

As we walked, Liu Sui suddenly stopped. His face turned incredibly fierce. Then, something that made my skin crawl happened.

Liu Sui roared at me with that savage expression: "Stop the act! I saw you the moment you stepped onto this campus. Who are you really?"
