Chapter 13: Conquest
Chapter Thirteen: Subjugation
Just as Qin Yu was mulling things over, a group of people suddenly appeared before them.
“Who are you?” Qin Yu immediately became alert.
Qin Mianmian, on the other hand, was somewhat frightened, hiding behind Qin Yu and looking panicked.
“Big brother, it’s him!” Among the group, a red-haired man pointed at Qin Yu, shouting excitedly.
Upon seeing the red-haired man, Qin Yu suddenly remembered—wasn’t this the guy he had knocked down at the barbecue stall before? Clearly, they had come for revenge.
“Hey, kid, you beat up my man?” The leader, a burly man, stepped forward and stared at Qin Yu.
“You’re from that… Red Sun Bar, aren’t you?”
“So you know us? Looks like you came looking for trouble on purpose. In that case, you must be connected to that traitor. Come with us, it’s time to meet our boss.”
“Fine.” Qin Yu knew that people like them wouldn’t stop just because he’d beaten them once. The only way to end it was to uproot the problem—unless the boss was dealt with, all efforts would be in vain.
He hadn’t expected Qin Yu to agree so readily. The burly man frowned, a hint of apprehension flickering in his heart.
Seeing the man hesitate, Qin Yu grinned and said, “So little guts? How embarrassing. Here, let me help you.”
As he finished speaking, Qin Yu flicked a silver needle, which landed directly on the man’s body.
The burly man immediately found himself unable to move.
“What did you do to me?” His eyes widened in terror as he stared at Qin Yu.
“Take me to your boss, right now. My patience is limited. If I don’t help you recover within two hours, you’ll spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair.”
“I’ll take you right away,” the man stammered, finally cowed. Qin Yu’s methods were far too ruthless.
A group of them arrived at the Red Sun Bar. By then, the people inside had already been notified—every customer had been asked to leave, and only the henchmen remained.
As soon as they entered, Qin Yu noticed that all eyes in the bar were fixed on him.
At the center sat a middle-aged man, casually toying with a dagger.
But when Qin Yu saw the man, he was momentarily taken aback, then burst out laughing.
Hearing the laughter, the middle-aged man looked at Qin Yu in surprise. Then, with a flush of excitement, he sprang to his feet.
“My benefactor! It’s actually you—I’ve been searching for you for so long!”
At these words, everyone present looked at their boss in bewilderment.
Qin Mianmian, for her part, glanced nervously at Qin Yu.
The burly man asked, confused, “Boss, what’s going on?”
“This is the benefactor I told you to find—the one who stopped my bleeding, gave me first aid, and called an ambulance for me. If not for him, I wouldn’t have made it to the hospital alive.”
With that, the man strode over to Qin Yu, his voice trembling with emotion. “My benefactor, I’ve been searching for you for so long. Thank you for saving my life. My name is Wang Hu. From now on, you are my big brother—wherever you point, we will charge!”
At this, Qin Yu shook his head with a smile. “No need for that. I only did what anyone would do. I never expected it to be you. Since that’s the case, it’s all a misunderstanding. Just don’t trouble me in the future.”
Qin Yu had no desire to get entangled with these people, lest he invite trouble upon himself.
“Rest assured, it was all a misunderstanding. From now on, you are my big brother. If you need anything, just let me know.” Wang Hu immediately shook his head and handed Qin Yu a token.
The token bore a large character: Tiger.
Qin Yu looked at it with some confusion. What exactly did Wang Hu do, and why did he use a token?
“Keep this token. In the southern part of Haishi, if anyone bothers you, just show the token—they won’t dare touch you. If they still make a move, just come find me.”
Qin Yu thought it wasn’t a bad idea to have someone to deal with future troubles. Smiling, he nodded and put the token away.
Just as Qin Yu was about to leave, Wang Hu grabbed him, a little embarrassed. “Big brother, you’re skilled in medicine, aren’t you?”
“Yes, why?”
“Could you check me over?”
“A checkup? For what—an internal problem?”
Qin Yu had already guessed Wang Hu’s issue. When he treated Wang Hu before, he had noticed symptoms of premature ejaculation, which might affect fertility.
At the mention of a hidden issue, those nearby couldn’t help but laugh.
Wang Hu flushed and glared at them.
At once, everyone fell silent, lowering their heads and avoiding his gaze.
“Big brother, these are all my men—give me some face. After all, I am the King of Nanhai!”
Wang Hu was clearly embarrassed.
“King of Nanhai?” Qin Yu looked puzzled.
“All the entertainment venues south of Haicheng are my territory, so everyone calls me the King of Nanhai.”
Now understanding, Qin Yu nodded.
After sending his men away, Wang Hu grinned. “Big brother, please, just take a look and see if there’s any cure.”
Qin Yu placed his hand on Wang Hu’s wrist, examined him for a moment, then nodded. “It’s a small matter. I’ll write you a prescription.”
Handing over the prescription, Qin Yu patted Wang Hu’s shoulder, then left the bar with Qin Mianmian, smiling.
Back at the hotel, Qin Yu glanced around the room. The two assassins were still standing there, immobilized.
“You two must be exhausted.”
“Exhausted, exhausted,” they replied. After standing for three or four days, even a stone man would be tired.
Qin Yu chuckled and nodded, then pulled the silver needles from their bodies.
The pair collapsed to the ground, utterly spent.
Looking at their worn-out faces, Qin Yu asked directly, “Alright, tell me—who are you? Who sent you?”
“Willow Leaf, the Li family.”
Their answer was brief and straightforward.
Clearly, the Li family had to be dealt with, or there would never be any peace.
“Alright, both of you, open your mouths.”
Though confused, the two men, cowed by Qin Yu’s presence, reluctantly opened their mouths.
With a flick of his wrist, Qin Yu tossed two pills, which they swallowed.
Both men’s faces turned pale with shock. They had experienced Qin Yu’s methods firsthand and were still reeling—whatever he gave them couldn’t be anything good.
Seeing their terrified expressions, Qin Yu waved his hand with a smile. “Relax, it’s nothing. Just a very ordinary slow-acting poison. I’ll give you the antidote regularly. What are your names?”
“Jin Ming, Mu Yu,” they replied in unison.
“Alright, from today on, you two will follow me. As for the Li family, I’ll deal with them myself.”
With a cold laugh, Qin Yu strode out of the hotel.
But just as he stepped outside, a luxury car stopped in front of him.
