Chapter 87: The Revenge of the Delicate Jade Feet

“Lei Xiang, what are you trying to do?” the Azure Queen demanded.
Lei Xiang bared his small tiger-like teeth in a grin. “Naturally, I’m seizing the initiative. You’ve already taken the Reed Aloe and killed Lord Reed. Next, you’ll want to kill us to tie up loose ends. That’s why I’m making the first move. Oh, I forgot to introduce this weapon—it's called the Palm-Sized Immortal-Slaying Gun. It never misses. Even those far stronger than you can’t withstand it. Care to give it a try?”
The Azure Queen’s face, already pale from overexertion, suddenly flushed with an unhealthy crimson. “Fine! You’re ruthless. But don’t forget, there are two others on my side. You can’t possibly kill all three of us in one blow. Heh. Little Foot, Jade Fat.”
Little Foot, Jade Fat was in a miserable state. His well-maintained little feet had been sliced open in countless places by the zither strings, blood seeping from the wounds. Yet, at the Queen’s call, he leapt forward without hesitation. His bleeding foot plucked the strings of the jade zither.
The music rang out—like mountain streams cascading, like a golden oriole emerging from the valley.
Lei Xiang hadn’t expected a melody so ethereal. Even more surprising, Jade Fat’s snowy-white foot sliced across the metallic strings, sending up a burst of blood and six snapped strings, which shot straight toward the Azure Queen.
“You—” The Queen didn’t have time to finish her cry before the six broken strings pinned her down. She stumbled forward and fell. Jade Fat, barefoot and still bleeding, ignored his injuries and strode up to her. He stopped close by, his angry eyes fixed on the Queen.
Panting, the Azure Queen asked, “Jade Fat, why? Was I not good to you? Why would you betray me?”
Jade Fat’s eyes brimmed with mockery. “Good to me? Very good, exceptionally good. Look how white you’ve kept me, how delicate my feet are, how comfortable my pampered life is.” Suddenly, his expression twisted in furious rage. “But do you know? I am a man—a man who stands tall, not a pet for you to keep…”
He never finished his words. He would never speak again. The tip of a grass sword pierced his chest from the front. His eyes bulged, staring fixatedly at the blade.
“A useless thing that can’t even move without being told. What do you think you are? No more than a dog I raise.” The Queen sneered, blowing contemptuously. Jade Fat fell to the ground at her words, and Lei Xiang saw the Azure Queen slowly rise to her feet.
Lei Xiang watched her quietly, his Immortal-Slaying Gun steady in his hands. He didn’t seem the least bit anxious.

“Well, Lei Xiang, you sure know how to wait. Wasn’t just now the perfect moment to strike? Why didn’t you act? Do you lack confidence in your so-called Immortal-Slaying Gun, or is it a single-use weapon? Ha!” The Azure Queen laughed recklessly, for a pale blue veil now shrouded her, a faint glow enveloping her body. “This is my clan’s supreme treasure—the Blue Gauze Shroud. No matter how powerful the attack, it cannot be broken in one blow.”
Before she finished speaking, there was a crisp “crack!” The gun fired, a flash of white light shooting from the barrel—a white crystal pellet, no bigger than a fingernail. It moved so fast it was only a blur, striking the Queen’s chest. The Blue Gauze Shroud did nothing. The Azure Queen stood rigidly, feeling her strength ebbing away, her life slipping from her body.
Lei Xiang’s voice rang out. “The Blue Gauze Shroud is a treasure, but it can’t stop my Immortal-Slaying Gun. This gun is unique under heaven—nothing can block it. You will be the first to die by its hand. You may go with pride.”
Only when the Queen fell did Lei Xiang approach, searching her meticulously.
Mu Qingchun asked softly, “You’re not going to kill me, are you?”
Lei Xiang grinned. “How could I bear to kill someone as lovely as Teacher Mu? But you’ll have to be my wife of the mountain stronghold—”
Before he finished, Mu Qingchun turned and bolted away.
Watching her fleeing figure, Lei Xiang grinned again, revealing his sharp teeth. With a wave of his hand, several storage pouches of various colors flew over—those of the Azure Queen and Fiery Blaze. He tucked them away with a sigh, drew forth the Nine-Treasure Lotus Rod from his chest, and with a flick it grew to fifteen feet, swinging down to smash the ground. A pit three fathoms wide appeared.
With a twist of his finger, the bodies of the Azure Queen and Fiery Blaze floated into the pit. Ley Xiang raised and lowered his arms and the earth quickly covered the grave. “In adversity, you two showed true feeling. In life you could not share a bed, but in death you may share a grave.”
Suddenly, a violent coughing came through his divine sense, followed by Huang Qingyang’s voice. He was now desperately weak.
“Well done, Lei Xiang. You’ve avenged me by killing the Azure Queen. My wish is fulfilled; I can go to my next life now. Don’t forget your promise to care for the Myriad Buddhas Sect. Also, I recall that the Divine Art of Blue and Yellow I taught you has more than three layers—possibly higher realms, though I don’t know how many or where to find them. That will depend on your own fate.”
“Now release the Unbounded Sea of Spirit and the Sealing Spell—I must go.”

Lei Xiang nodded gravely. He understood this was Huang Qingyang’s farewell, his spirit already too feeble to remain. With a thought, Lei Xiang released the restraint. An orb of blue and yellow light flew from the back of his head, spinning down to form an old man in yellow robes.
The old man opened his parched mouth. “My time has come. I only emerged to bid you goodbye. With your abilities, you will accomplish great things. I hope we meet again.” As he finished, his image grew fainter and finally dispersed into the air.
Lei Xiang did not interfere—he knew this was a release for Huang Qingyang. With solemn respect, Lei Xiang knelt and bowed three times to the sky. After all, Huang Qingyang had taught him the Divine Art of Blue and Yellow. Then he composed himself, leapt onto his Swift Footed Flying Treasure, and flew away.
Ten hours later, a black streak descended on a lush mountain peak, revealing Lei Xiang atop his flying treasure. This was still the Endless Mountains, Ghost Spirit Valley—the most spiritual spot in the valley.
Such a place of spiritual energy could not be wasted. As for returning to the human realm, Lei Xiang felt no anxiety—he seemed to have everything under control. For now, his priority was to solidify his cultivation, quickly reach the sixth level of the Divine Spirit Treasure Canon, then reinforce his Immortal-Slaying Gun. He must also craft more crystal pellets—otherwise, the gun would be nothing but an ornament.
With that thought, Lei Xiang drew the Nine-Treasure Lotus Rod from his chest, thrust it into the hard mountainside, and recited a spell. The rod spun and thickened rapidly, roaring as stone and debris flew. Soon, a tunnel more than a fathom wide was bored into the mountain. Lei Xiang did not stop, but directed the rod to expand the cave—he intended to build a temporary abode.
Three more hours passed before Lei Xiang stowed his magical tools. He gazed at his newly built dwelling, grinning with his sharp tiger teeth. Though the abode was simple, it was his first, and so he felt a special fondness. Inside were more than a dozen rooms: for training, for storing treasures, even a chamber for the gluttonous pig, now asleep once more.
After a moment’s appreciation, Lei Xiang strode inside. Behind him, the stone door rumbled shut.
