Chapter 15: Bai Mu Li Returns Once More
Chapter 15: Bai Muli’s Return
“Forget it, I’ve found someone in my heart already.”
How did that phrase go again?
“Although you’re very good, I already have someone I like.”
Actually, that wasn’t exactly true.
It was just that she was too familiar with Fang Yuebai, and Lu Li was quite a womanizer.
No matter how you looked at it, a female demon felt more alluring than a woman.
At the very least, that sense of novelty was something Fang Yuebai couldn’t provide.
Even if Lu Li was the kind of scumbag who said, “I’ll sleep with her but marry you,” the ones he intended to sleep with and marry were Miss Bai and Miss Luo, having nothing to do with little Fang.
“Stop talking. Today’s meal is on me. What do you want to eat?”
Fang Yuebai wasn’t angry—after all, it was just a joke. “Then let’s go to Sha County Grand Hotel.”
They had a casual meal; it was mainly Fang Yuebai’s suggestion.
No matter who treated, she always ended up paying the bill.
Better to just eat something simple, especially since she and Lu Li had been childhood friends.
After eating, Lu Li and the others escorted her back to the courthouse.
At the entrance, Lu Li casually slipped three pairs of chopsticks wrapped in a plastic bag into Fang Yuebai’s bag, then turned his back to Xing Tian and the others, giving her a subtle glance.
Fang Yuebai understood immediately, pretending to know nothing as she said goodbye to Lu Li, “Well, I’m off now, Brother Li.”
“Bye.”
Lu Li drove off with the other three.
After watching the MPV disappear into the distance, Fang Yuebai took out her phone and checked the message Lu Li had quietly sent her earlier.
“The chopsticks have saliva residues from the three of them. Help me check their DNA comparison and see if they have any criminal records. If possible, also look into their household registrations.”
After reading the message, Fang Yuebai’s brows furrowed with worry.
But she soon turned and headed toward the courthouse, dialing a classmate’s number.
The results would likely be available today.
They wandered aimlessly along the way.
Xing Tian asked, “Where are you headed?”
He had made up his mind—after dropping Lu Li off, he would disappear.
Then the three of them would find a safe place to hide until tomorrow.
If they could make it through the night, they’d survive!
Lu Li yawned, “Let’s head back to the hotel first.”
“Alright,” Xing Tian agreed immediately, then told his companions, “Eagle, go back to that hotel.”
Lu Li glanced at him but said nothing.
He noticed that these guys all addressed each other by code names.
This only confirmed his suspicions further.
Now, it was time to wait for Fang Yuebai’s test results.
If they really came up as “no record found,” then his guess was right—these people weren’t from this world.
Back in the hotel room, Lu Li yawned again.
Honestly, he was a bit tired, but now was not the time to sleep.
After all, if he fell asleep, chances were he’d have to meet Miss Bai.
Just in case, he had bought a bunch of energy drinks.
Red Bull, Libaojian, Lehu, Black Card—everything was there.
Seeing his fatigue, Xing Tian cautiously asked, “Do you have any other instructions? If not, shall we leave?”
Lu Li waved his hand, “Be careful on the road.”
It was safer for them to leave.
If they found out he was just an ordinary person, Lu Li could imagine the consequences.
Better to have them go first.
If Fang Yuebai’s results came back confirming these guys were undocumented, Lu Li would have to unleash his trump card.
Call the police!
With so many cameras on the streets nowadays, finding them would be easy.
When the police set a trap, they wouldn’t be able to escape.
Xing Tian was overjoyed.
He was about to agree when a gentle, amused female voice rang out nearby.
“That won’t do~~”
The three abruptly turned their heads!
The silent, bespectacled man who had been driving—whom Xing Tian called “Eagle”—had disappeared from where he stood.
In his place stood Bai Muli, dressed in an ivory suit matching “Eagle’s,” her face adorned with the same gold-rimmed glasses and her hair tied in a single ponytail!
Her unfocused golden eyes “looked” at the pale-faced Xing Tian and the little blond-haired one.
“You two, stay at the door.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Xing Tian grabbed the struggling blond and quietly stepped outside, shutting the door behind them.
Bai Muli’s gaze shifted to Lu Li’s face, her fierce golden eyes instantly softening into a tender warmth.
“Mr. Lu, we meet again~~”
Her lively tone betrayed the pleasure in her heart.
Lu Li forced a dry laugh, “Yeah, it’s been half a day, haha.”
It was nothing at first, but Miss Bai’s sudden appearance was too abrupt.
Recalling what Miss Luo had said, there was no need to mention where the “Eagle” man with gold-rimmed glasses had gone.
The seed of the dream planted within him had hatched into Miss Bai herself.
And he had been completely devoured.
Such a horrifying thing suddenly appearing before him even shook Lu Li.
At this moment, his timidity outweighed his womanizing.
Sneaking a glance at Lu Li’s trembling legs and stiff smile, Miss Bai’s expression turned slightly disappointed.
“Just half a day apart and you’re already so distant. Mr. Lu, has your soul been stolen away by that coward Luo Qianning?”
Lu Li looked confused, “Luo what?”
“Luo Qianning~”
“What Qianning?”
“Luo Qianning!”
“Luo what?”
“Mr. Lu!”
“*cough*” Lu Li coughed twice, “I don’t know any Luo Qianning, and I’ve never seen a beautiful female demon with silver long straight hair, wearing a purple-red dress, heterochromatic eyes, holding a fan and a parasol.”
He looked utterly sincere and innocent. “Miss Bai, you have to believe me!”
Miss Bai’s smile was gentle, kind, and warm. “Of course I believe you, but that Luo Qianning isn’t someone you can trust.”
Lu Li immediately shook his head, “I don’t know any Luo Qianning, there’s only one sun in my heart for now!”
Bai Muli was very pleased with his reaction, though she knew he was just trying to flatter her.
But there was no helping it—he was Mr. Lu after all~~
Even though she knew he was only humoring her, Bai Muli couldn’t suppress the joy in her heart.
“Just suppose you did know her.”
Her expression suddenly turned serious.
“Mr. Lu, don’t believe anything Luo Qianning says. She’s no good.”
She picked up the remote and turned on the TV, switching to the international news channel.
Currently, the “daytime news” was on.
“Our station has received an urgent breaking news.”
The news anchor clearly received the breaking news unexpectedly and was momentarily stunned.
Then she began reporting the news.
“A severe gas explosion occurred at Manhattan Plaza in New York, USA. Currently, sixty thousand people have died, and seventy thousand are missing. We await further updates. As soon as new information arrives, we will connect live to reporters on the scene.”
Lu Li raised an eyebrow, suddenly feeling a bad premonition.
He looked at Bai Muli.
Miss Bai’s golden eyes reflected Lu Li’s somewhat pale face.
“She’s the most monstrous of all monsters. She did this. The one hundred thirty thousand dead are all her doing. To her, humans are like ants on the roadside—she wouldn’t care in the slightest if she crushed a whole colony passing by.”
Thanks to Brother Zijing and wow weapon warrior for their generous support.
