Reclaiming Everything That Belonged to Her
Her jet-black hair, long down to her waist, was as soft and smooth as silk, falling straight and neat. Her bangs made her face, no bigger than a palm, look even more delicate. Her eyes resembled precious jewels—bright and shimmering with ripples of light, within which one could occasionally catch glimmers of icy frost. With a petite yet straight nose and pale lips, her features came together to make her look as exquisite as a porcelain doll.
She was only sixteen years old, and indeed she looked thoroughly youthful, yet her aura was overwhelmingly authoritative and cold as ice. Anyone who laid eyes upon her would not dare to utter a single word of defiance; otherwise, they would instantly feel as though they were facing the bitter, freezing chill of the Extreme North.
Dressed in a pure white evening gown, her expression was frosty and even haughty. Adorned in Frozen-themed jewelry, she looked precisely like a snow maiden looking down upon the mortal world with haughty detachment.
"Wei Dongming, I have arrived. Today, I will strip you of everything!" A cold smile played at the corners of Wei Zi's lips, a chilling grin that caused even Attorney Zeng, standing close beside her, to tremble inwardly.
This girl had boundless prospects ahead of her!
"Security! Stop them! Don't let them in!" The muscles on Wei Dongming's face twitched violently with panic. Inside the boardroom, he completely abandoned all pretense of dignity and roared at the top of his lungs.
However, the report that came from the security guards plunged Wei Dongming into a feeling as though the heavens were collapsing and the earth was shattering.
"Chairman, they brought the law enforcement officers!"
Wei Dongming felt his heart plummet straight to the abyss. Law enforcement officers! How ruthless of Wei Zi; she had actually brought the authorities along!
In truth, this was something Wei Dongming had anticipated long ago, and it was the very reason why he feared Wei Zi becoming a Mystic Practitioner.
In the world of ordinary mortals, no one could ever stop law enforcement officers!
With brutal force, those officers shoved aside the security guards who stepped forward to block their path, striding ahead to clear the way and escorting Wei Zi as she stepped into the elevator.
The twenty-fourth floor housed Wei Dongming's executive boardroom!
"Chairman, trying to block people like this hardly seems appropriate, does it?" remarked one of the shareholders with a cold sneer, seeing that the situation was already decided.
"Indeed. Besides, why didn't you mention it, Chairman? Miss Wei Zi has already become a Mystic Practitioner? That is truly wonderful news!" another shareholder chimed in with a laugh. Most of these shareholders had originally been friends of the late Elder Cheng Qingping, and they held Wei Dongming in utter contempt. Furthermore, in his bid to seize absolute control of the company, Wei Dongming had previously malicious bought out their shares; several of the original shareholders were no longer even seated here.
Wei Dongming collapsed dejectedly into his seat.
"Boom!" The heavy doors of the boardroom swung completely wide open!
Wei Zi and Leng Lie stepped into the conference room, accompanied by several prominent reporters from financial magazines.
Wei Zi walked up to Wei Dongming and looked down at the man from her towering height. She had not set eyes upon him for a full ten years!
The moment she laid eyes on him, there was no longing of a daughter for her father, but rather a hatred that cut deep into her marrow.
She hated him. She hated his heartlessness and disloyalty, she hated how he had deceived her mother, and she hated how he had condoned He Xiaohe's abuse and mistreatment of her!
"Wei Dongming, look at you today!" Wei Zi smiled, but her face was etched with a hatred so profound it made people shudder.
Wei Dongming looked at Wei Zi with a mixture of shock and apprehension. It was his first time experiencing the full weight of hatred emanating from her, and it chilled him to the core.
A moment later, however, rage flared within him. "You unfilial wretch! What did you just call me? No matter what, I am still your father! I gave you life and raised you, and yet you dare to address me by my full name to my face!"
"You don't even deserve it!" A powerful aura suddenly erupted from Wei Zi. In an instant, a biting cold wind swept through the room, and the water in the glass beside Wei Dongming froze into solid ice!
"Miss Wei, please mind your emotions!" The law enforcement team members quickly stepped forward to intervene. Wei Zi's cultivation was not yet high enough, nor had she made any monumental contributions to the Heavenly China Realm that would grant her immunity from murder charges. Aside from deterring ordinary citizens, it was also their duty to protect those people and prevent Wei Zi from executing someone in a moment of agitation.
Of course, in reality, they would almost always choose to side with a Mystic Practitioner.
"Mr. Wei, please vacate your seat. I am afraid the position of Chairman no longer belongs to you as of today!" Two law enforcement officers grabbed Wei Dongming by his arms, practically lifting him out of his chair and moving him aside. Wei Dongming lacked even the strength to resist; these Mystic Practitioners had countless methods to force him into silence. All he could do was stare with wide, bulging eyes as Wei Zi, wearing a triumphant smile, seated herself firmly in the chair that rightfully belonged to her.
Shortly thereafter, Leng Lie and the others were also assigned their seats.
Naturally, the appearance of Leng Lie baffled both the shareholders and the senior executives of the Cheng Corporation.
"This is the last will and testament left behind by the late Elder Cheng Qingping, declaring that upon Miss Wei Zi reaching the age of majority at sixteen, she shall take over his shares. Not only that, but the shares originally managed by Mr. Wei which belonged to Cheng Lan will also be transferred under Miss Wei Zi's name on this very day for her to hold. Miss Wei holds the full rights to transfer, sell, or inherit these shares," Attorney Zeng announced.
"Attorney Yang and Mr. Hong, who helped Elder Cheng Qingping establish these shares back then, are both present at the scene and can verify the authenticity of this will!"
Everyone began to look through the documents. In fact, these papers contained not only shares but also various land deeds and property titles, though since they had no direct bearing on the company, Attorney Zeng omitted mentioning them.
Even so, these assets were of immense consequence to Wei Dongming!
With a radiant smile, Wei Zi said, "Mr. Wei, you should take a very careful look at this will and see what is written upon it!"
Those contracts were the very items Wei Dongming had searched high and low for countless times without success!
Wei Dongming stared fixedly, his eyes wide as if he intended to burn right through the contract.
Finally, the document was pulled away from his field of vision and landed in Wei Zi's hands. She picked up a pen and signed her name. Afterward, Mr. Hong, a close friend of Cheng Qingping, along with Attorney Yang who had originally drafted the contract, and Attorney Zeng added their signatures, bringing the contract into formal effect.
At this very moment, Wei Zi became the single largest shareholder of the Cheng Corporation!
"I am delighted to become the largest shareholder of the Cheng Corporation and to enjoy primary controlling rights. However, I recognize that I lack the capability to manage such a massive enterprise as the Cheng Corporation; after all, I am still young. Therefore, I will transfer the operational rights to the President of the Leng Group—President Leng. To enable President Leng to better govern the Leng Group, I am transferring seventy-three percent of the shares in my possession to him, empowering him with superior executive decision-making authority. Henceforth, I officially hand over this position to President Leng!" Wei Zi said with a light chuckle. She stood up and departed from the seat without a backward glance.
She held no attachment to these worldly holdings. Although the Cheng Corporation had been founded by Cheng Qingping, and she felt a sense of guilt for failing to safeguard her maternal grandfather's legacy, she was a Mystic Practitioner. Her world did not lie here; it was far better to let capable hands take the helm.
