Chapter 018: Grilled Cold Noodles with Sausage
Where did the python come from?!
The town mayor was still in disbelief when he saw the black python slithering out piece by piece from beneath the white quilt, coiling around the beauty’s calf, thigh, waist... until its menacing head emerged from behind the woman’s neck, dangerously fixating on him.
The scene was chillingly eerie, like something out of a horror film.
A cold shiver rose in the mayor’s heart. He instinctively took two steps back, staring incredulously at the woman he had just thought was harmless and powerless.
She was entwined by a two-meter-long black python, yet she showed no trace of fear!
“You…”
Su Su blinked innocently for a moment. “Doesn’t your hand hurt?”
Her hand! The bite marks on her hand!
Mentioning that, the mayor immediately snapped back to reality.
“Is it venomous?!”
His first reaction was to rush out, shouting, “Come—”
Before he could finish the word, a flash of icy blue flame surged from behind.
The mayor swiftly dodged and instinctively tried to counterattack.
But the deadly earthen spike he threw was shattered halfway by a heavy strike from the python’s tail.
Fragments flew out and even scratched the mayor’s cheek.
A roar!
Another flame erupted—it was unmistakably spat from the python’s mouth!
This was a python with supernatural abilities!
After a moment’s hesitation, the mayor decided to keep running and call for backup.
Rather than fight a beast of unknown power while injured, it was better to let others handle it. He needed to treat the bite marks on his wrist first—who knew if it was venomous... As his thoughts drifted there, his feet suddenly faltered.
A chill shot to his head, and his mind began to blur.
The mayor was shocked to see the ground beneath his eyes trembling.
He was poisoned! And severely!
“Sun... Wan…”
His weak cries went unheard; no one guarded the door outside.
“Xiao Hei.”
He heard the woman’s soft call and saw the fierce python obediently crawl back upon hearing it. Its blood-red, terrifying tongue greedily licked her cheek.
“Don’t lick me.”
Su Su, inexperienced with reptiles, simply thought Xiao Hei was like a cat or dog, having developed a bad habit of licking its owner’s tears.
The mayor glared fiercely, “That’s yours?”
Facing the most feared enemy of his past life and the most detested scoundrel in this one—now helplessly collapsed on the ground like the many men Xiao Hei had bitten, staring at them in terror—
Su Su admitted her mood was unusually buoyant.
No grand moral principles could compare to brute strength.
For the first time, she truly understood this.
“It is mine,” Su Su said softly, stroking Xiao Hei’s serpentine body. “Thanks to that third-tier crystal you sent, Xiao Hei advanced so quickly.”
A third-tier crystal?
The mayor instantly pieced it together, his thoughts rollercoastering, his face turning ghastly.
“You killed Zhang Da and Zhang Er? And that third-tier zombie too? You killed them?”
Su Su didn’t have that power.
Her current supernatural ability only allowed her to control a few zombies; she was fortunate to have raised a fierce snake.
She said nothing, but the mayor’s mind filled in the gaps.
All he had to do was think a little, and everything connected.
No wonder she insisted on coming to the outskirts of C City, and no wonder his flawless plan failed... It turned out his scheme was merely part of this woman’s windfall!
He fought fiercely with other supernaturals, only to have the spoils fall to a seemingly insignificant wretch!
The mayor’s body trembled violently—angry and cold.
The toxin had likely spread through the wound into his body; soon, he would surely die here.
He swallowed the bitter, poisonous blood and hurriedly used his supernatural power to erect an earthen wall inside the room.
Then, dragging his body, he crawled toward the exit, eyes wide.
“Sun Wan… Sun Wan!”
A sharp, eerie voice emerged from his mouth, momentarily resembling a vengeful spirit.
Bang!
The earthen wall was smashed by the python’s tail, sand scattering everywhere.
A third-tier supernatural still couldn’t scale walls or unleash lethal moves easily.
Moreover, the mayor had just swallowed a third-tier crystal, and the energy hadn’t fully digested, causing his power to stagnate.
This was the consequence of recklessly ingesting a high-tier crystal.
Su Su stepped out from the dust, the black python gliding beside her right side.
One person and one snake gazed coldly at the man sprawled on the ground, their eyes filled with icy killing intent.
In just fifteen minutes, the situation had completely reversed.
The mayor couldn’t accept it. Swallowing blood, he promised favors: “Let me live, and I’ll give you whatever you want—even this town.”
Su Su shook her head. “I don’t believe you.”
“From the start, I never trusted your character. The facts have proven my suspicions right.”
“If I let you successfully delay time, maybe the next trap will be set for me.”
Against humans, her supernatural power currently held no offensive strength.
The mayor’s severe injuries were due to his own lack of defense and her setting the black snake to ambush. Multiple factors combined to create this outcome.
Therefore... the mayor must die.
His death would plunge the town into chaos, but another mayor would rise—one who wouldn’t harbor such intense malice toward the ordinary people still trapped in the town.
They would live less painfully.
This was the only thing Su Su could do.
“I will kill you tonight.”
The woman’s voice was low, as if softly stating a fact. By nature, she couldn’t utter a more threatening tone.
Yet it made the mayor feel even colder.
“Don’t you want anything at all?” He stared desperately at Su Su. “Crystals? Supplies? This town? I’ll give you everything! Just let me live!”
Only by living could he continue scheming.
He refused to die so easily from a woman’s treachery—this was humiliation and disgrace!
Along with the bitterness of his failed plans and misjudgments.
He would not let her have the chance to turn the tables. If he did, he would...
“Xiao Hei.” Su Su didn’t want to look at the scheming in this scoundrel’s eyes. “Burn him.”
“Wait!”
Before he could finish, the obedient-but-unpredictable black snake opened its mouth and spat a ball of blue flame.
It had long despised this human.
The foul smell always clung to its human and the food he brought her, making it want to vomit.
“Sun Wan!!!”
The mayor’s tragic scream vanished in the scorching flames. Within seconds, the crawling man was charred black.
Another burst of flame reduced him to ashes, scattered and mixed with the sand, leaving no trace.
“Xiao Hei, well done!”
“Now we have to run!”
Su Su moved to the window. Their room was on the third floor of the villa, about nine meters above ground.
Without hesitation, she rolled up the quilt on the bed, twisted it into a makeshift rope, and tied one end to the windowsill.
Below was pitch black, with faint hints of greenery.
Her heart steeled, she grasped the rope and kicked off the wall, beginning her descent.
“Xiao Hei?”
She wanted the black snake to follow, but looking up, she saw it had already swiftly slithered down the wall to the ground.
A cold-blooded creature that could climb trees and scale walls—no need to worry.
Landing unsteadily on the grass, Su Su stumbled.
The coiled black snake showed no sympathy, even seeming to think this human was too weak.
Struggling to stand, Su Su laboriously picked up the ten-plus-kilogram black snake.
“Let’s go.”
The villa was unguarded; the cleaning woman had long since fallen asleep.
No one expected a third-tier mayor to be killed in his own home. Everyone tacitly agreed to leave this romantic, ambiguous night to the mayor alone.
This allowed Su Su to slip away unnoticed.
Just as she rounded the front door, she suddenly remembered the food left in the hall and stopped dead.
“Xiao Hei, can you still carry more?”
“Hiss~”
The black snake hissed a few times, swaying its tail lazily.
That meant yes.
Su Su gritted her teeth and sneaked back into the hall.
The earlier mess had been cleaned up, but the supplies brought in hadn’t been taken out yet.
She quickly found several bags of rice totaling eighty kilograms.
Also, a box of instant noodles, fifteen packs of smoked chicken, rabbit, and duck, over a dozen cans of meat, homemade dried vegetables from the town, and a plastic bucket full of eggs.
These had once been her “selling” supplies and also the mayor’s goodwill offerings to Lin Weiran and his group.
Now all of it became Su Su’s spoils.
“Xiao Hei, this one.”
“And this.”
“That too.”
Like a mouse in a granary, Su Su’s smile never faded.
Only after carrying everything away did she stretch and say,
“We really have to leave now.”
She remembered where the vehicles were parked before entering the town. After cautiously circling the town, she found the SUVs parked at the town’s entrance.
Seeing them, her heart was flooded with complex emotions.
She hadn’t expected Lin Weiran and the others to actually leave these cars for her.
If she were truly an ordinary person without means, she wouldn’t have been able to leave the town tonight. Leaving the two SUVs behind was just giving the mayor a bonus... but they still left them.
