Chapter 1: Gone for Three Thousand Years, Yet Returned Still a Young Man!
February 14th.
Valentine’s Day.
Beijiang City.
Snow had begun to fall since dusk, yet this did nothing to dampen the spirits of couples; the streets were teeming with people.
Meanwhile, in Beijiang Park, all remained tranquil.
At the center of Beijiang Park lay a lake, not particularly large, but the bitter cold had sealed its surface with ice.
Suddenly, a rumbling echoed from beneath the frozen lake.
With a thunderous crack, the ice shattered as if struck by a giant’s fist, and black water surged upward.
The fish in the lake floated, cooked to perfection, a rich aroma filling the air.
Incredibly, they had been boiled alive.
On the stone steps by the shore, a pair of skeletal hands appeared, followed by arms, and at last, a translucent skeleton emerged slowly from the water.
Dark clouds gathered overhead, and a colossal vortex spun above the skeleton’s head.
The skeleton lifted its gaze to the sky and smiled eerily.
With that smile, muscle and sinew rapidly formed upon the bones, and in the blink of an eye—
The skeleton became a man of unparalleled beauty.
The man murmured, “Three thousand years… Who would have thought, after three thousand years, I could return!”
He then looked up, and a golden light shot from his eyes.
The enormous vortex in the sky shattered instantly.
At the same time, an awe-inspiring aura radiated from him.
In that instant, the entire Beijiang City, even the whole Eastern Capital, trembled.
Many elderly men, sitting cross-legged in meditation, opened their eyes in terror.
For they sensed a power so vast that even perceiving it for a moment threatened to imprison their very souls.
Who could possess such a sovereign presence?
Xue An never imagined he would be able to return.
Three thousand years!
So much had happened over those millennia.
The once destitute youth had become one of the few immortal lords in the realm.
Had it not been for a flaw in his heart at the crucial moment of attaining ultimate enlightenment, he would have become the supreme existence of the entire plane.
Yet, at the brink of annihilation, Xue An tore open space and time with supreme power and finally returned to Earth!
He gazed wistfully at the park.
In those days, he and An Yan would often visit this very place.
“An Yan, are you… well?” Xue An whispered.
Once, Xue An had a happy family.
After graduating from university, he brought An Yan to this city amid the envy and jealousy of many, and they began their sweet life together.
They had no money then, living in a small room.
But those days were filled with joy.
Every day, when Xue An returned from work, An Yan would have dinner ready and wait for him at home.
He thought life would always be this simple and happy.
But then—
An Yan’s family tracked her down in this city.
It was only then that Xue An learned An Yan was the heiress of the An family of Zhongdu.

The An family of Zhongdu!
A colossal entity whose power surpassed even that of many multinational corporations, which were but subsidiaries of their vast empire.
And An Yan was a direct descendant.
Naturally, the An family would never allow her to be with an ordinary man like Xue An.
But An Yan refused to go back, even at the cost of breaking ties with her family.
With no choice, the man sent to fetch her left Beijiang after warning them to look after themselves.
But that was only the beginning. Soon after, Xue An lost his job, and no company dared to hire him.
Desperate, he went to work at construction sites, taking on the toughest jobs he could find.
He did it for one reason alone—
An Yan was pregnant.
But just as she was nearing her due date, Xue An vanished after an accident at the site.
Only he knew that the accident had hurled him into a fantastical, cruel world of gods and demons.
And there he remained for three thousand years.
Suddenly, his whole body trembled, and shock flashed across his face.
He realized that while three thousand years had passed for him, only four years had elapsed on Earth.
Which meant—An Yan was still alive!
Although his power was greatly diminished by the laws of this world, what remained was still formidable.
He closed his eyes and sent his spiritual sense across the entire city of Beijiang.
But he found nothing.
As expected…
An Yan had left Beijiang.
A bitter smile touched Xue An’s lips. His sudden disappearance must have been a devastating blow to her.
“An Yan, I’ve come back!”
“Has our child been born?”
“Is it a boy or a girl? You always said you loved girls best, so surely it’s a beautiful little daughter, isn’t it?”
He murmured to himself, then used his divine sense to search for anyone sharing his bloodline.
He found them!
Wait—
There were two!
Xue An was taken aback, but a smile slowly spread across his lips, and then his figure disappeared into the snowy night.
On the bustling streets of Beijiang, a couple was admiring the falling snow.
“Brother, your girlfriend is so pretty, buy a flower for her!” came a timid voice from behind.
The couple turned to see a little girl with a basket on her back, looking up at them with hopeful eyes.
She was about four or five, delicate and lovely, with big eyes, a petite nose, and long lashes—so adorable one could hardly resist pinching her cheeks.
“What a cute little girl! Aren’t you cold, selling flowers out here?” the young woman squatted and asked with a smile.
The little girl’s dimples appeared as she grinned, “No, sister, I’m not cold. Please buy a flower!”
“I’ll take one,” the man said, smiling as he pulled out his wallet.
Just then, another little girl, almost identical to the first, came over. “Brother, buy two! One for each of us!”
The two girls looked exactly alike, dressed the same, standing together so sweetly it melted the hearts of passersby.
“Oh my, are they twins?”
The scene was simply delightful.
“Which of you is the elder sister, and which is the younger?”
“Sometimes I’m the elder!”
“Sometimes I’m the younger!”
The girls answered in their childish voices.
Many pedestrians stopped, unable to resist buying from such adorable little girls.

In no time, the girls had sold all their flowers.
But their success attracted some unwelcome attention.
Just as they prepared to leave with their empty baskets, a plump, sullen-faced woman blocked their way.
“You little brats! Who gave you permission to sell on my turf?” the woman barked.
Startled, the girls replied timidly, “Auntie, we didn’t know this was your place! We’ll leave right away!”
“Leave? Not so fast,” the woman snapped her fingers, and several rough-looking men surrounded the girls.
This woman was indeed the local bully, known as Sister Feng.
She had had her eye on these twin girls for a while, watching them sell out their flowers with nothing but their cuteness, and a scheme grew in her mind.
If she could get her hands on them, wouldn’t they become a gold mine?
The two girls were terrified. One pushed the other, whispering, “Sister, run!”
“Run? Neither of you is going anywhere!” Sister Feng sneered.
The men closed in.
The girls, so young and small, stood no chance against the adults, and were quickly seized.
“Auntie, please let us go! We won’t do it again!” they pleaded.
“Still calling me auntie? I’ve looked into you—just a pair of orphans, no father or mother. Behave, and I’ll take you in. If not… hmph!” Sister Feng threatened, switching between sweet and sinister.
“We’re not orphans! We have a daddy and a mommy!” the girls cried.
“Oh? Then call your daddy and mommy to rescue you!” Sister Feng grinned, revealing a mouth of yellow teeth.
The girls’ expressions darkened. “We’re not orphans. Our daddy and mommy just went far away. They’ll come back for us…”
“Haha! What a joke! Orphans are orphans, no matter how much you protest!” Sister Feng laughed.
“Do you know how disgusting your laugh is?” a calm voice interrupted, cutting her laughter short.
A figure appeared at the end of the alley, tall and sharp as a blade, striding steadily through the snow.
“Who are you? This is Sister Feng’s business—outsiders, get lost!” one of the men shouted.
The girls cried out, “Uncle, help us!”
It was Xue An. As he looked at the two girls, a tremor ran through him—their blood connection told him without doubt: these were his daughters!
His heart quivered.
So these were his children? They looked so much like An Yan.
No, their eyes resembled his more.
He stared, entranced.
“Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear me? Get lost!” one man cursed, reaching out to shove Xue An.
But in the next moment, his hand was severed at the wrist.
Blood spurted onto the snow, vivid and shocking.
The man stared in stunned silence before howling in agony.
Xue An calmly surveyed the group, counting aloud, “One, two, three…”
“What the hell are you counting?” another man yelled, charging forward.
But as he did, both his legs snapped at the knees.
With a wave, Xue An let the swirling snow shield the girls’ eyes.
He then turned to Sister Feng and said coolly, “Eight of you in all. Remember, on the road to the underworld—don’t get separated.”
Sister Feng felt as if she stood before a supreme emperor, unworthy even to kneel in his presence.
“No… spare me…” she pleaded.
But her words were cut short as a tongue of flame leapt from beneath their feet.
In a heartbeat, the eight were reduced to ashes.
