Chapter 13: Kill After Use (2)
Changge Yue watched their agonizing torment, yet from beginning to end, she heard not a single sound; it was clear the man in red had first sealed their voices.
Even Changge Yue, who had seen her share of malevolent spirits, felt a shiver run down her spine. This man could have ended their lives in an instant, yet he chose to let their flesh rot away until only white bone remained. What astonished her even more was that he was not using internal martial arts, but poison. If she was not mistaken, those black mists were laced with lethal toxins.
A smile curled the corner of Changge Yue’s lips; she was intrigued by his mastery of poison.
Just then, a strange smile flickered across the man’s sharp, handsome face—like a burst of flame blooming atop a frozen peak, dazzling yet perverse.
"To think there is such a bold woman in this world!" The man in red turned his gaze toward Changge Yue’s hiding spot.
Her heart skipped a beat. Despite the large tree standing between them, she felt as if his gaze had pierced straight into her chest. Gritting her teeth, she stepped out from behind the trunk, silver needles already held silently in her hand. "And is there not also such a ruthless man in this world?"
The man in red met her clear, watery eyes, and a peculiar smile traced his lips once more.
At that moment, a dark shadow descended from the sky, kneeling on one knee before him. "Your Highness, the item was not found."
A flicker of languid indifference crossed the man’s face, his interest waning. "If it is merely the stuff of legend, then let it be."
The dark figure took a deep breath. "Your Highness, without that item, then the day after tomorrow, you..."
The man in red waved a hand, signaling him to say no more. As the figure stood up, he finally noticed that there was a woman standing before his master. She was no ghost, no corpse, but a living woman!
"Your Highness, she..." Under the moonlight, Changge Yue stood in white, her veil fluttering, her bright, watery eyes hauntingly captivating. The dark figure swallowed instinctively, his true nature revealed.
The man in red observed the subordinate’s reaction. Without sparing a glance for Changge Yue, he simply stated, "If you like her, use her. But remember, kill her when you are finished."
With those words, the man in red vanished from the mountaintop like a phantom.
A cold smirk played on Changge Yue’s lips, her eyes filled with icy intent. "Name."
Should she thank the man in red for sparing her, or pity the man standing before her for his ill fortune?
The shadow was taken aback. He looked her up and down; though the lustful urgency had faded from his eyes, his gaze lingered on the curves of her figure.
"Wen Fang," he finally spat out, not deigning to take her seriously.
The smile on Changge Yue’s lips widened, yet the chilling aura between her brows was enough to strike terror into anyone. "Very well. I will not kill you, but I will ensure you never forget this day. You’ve angered me—consider it your bad luck."
And as for that perverted man in red, Changge Yue gritted her teeth, her slender hand flicking to launch a silver needle at Wen Fang.
Wen Fang was stunned, then a flash of disdain crossed his eyes. He dodged the needle with ease, but just as he was about to speak, he discovered that the energy in his chest was surging in reverse. "You..."
Changge Yue sneered, "If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut right now."
"What did you do to me!" Wen Fang tried to regulate the energy in his dantian, but his face turned a bruised purple. For the first time, fear surfaced in his eyes. "You poisoned me!"
