Chapter 126: Go Have Fun
After returning to her room, Yingying felt bored and wanted to find somewhere to have some fun. She decided to head toward Baisheng Yun’s direction.
Not knowing what Baisheng Yun was up to, she reached his door and knocked firmly.
“Hey, Baisheng Yun, are you in there?”
Baisheng Yun was lying on his bed, leisurely reading a book with his legs crossed. The moment he heard Yingying’s voice, he jumped up, yanked the door open, and greeted her with a bright, charming smile.
“Yingying, is something wrong this late? Come on in, tell me what’s going on inside.”
Huo Tianqing was as warm and welcoming as ever. Yingying entered and casually sipped some tea.
“I’ve been feeling a bit bored lately, so I thought I’d go out for a walk. Do you know any fun places around?”
Huo Tianqing propped his chin on his hands and thought for a moment.
“Fun places? Hmm... I do know of a very special place. It’s like a hidden paradise, incredibly beautiful—like a fairyland on earth. Would you like to go there?”
“A hidden paradise? Does such a place really exist? Tell me, how beautiful is it?”
“It’s breathtaking. There are countless flowers, trees, and fruits, endless little animals, and the place is so peaceful—no one else bothers you. Do you want to go?”
Though Yingying hadn’t been a great student, she remembered reading “The Peach Blossom Spring” and had always longed for a place like that.
She nodded eagerly like a little chick pecking at rice.
“Of course I want to go! Do you have a map?”
“No map, but I know the way. We’ll set off tomorrow.”
She nodded, noticing the late hour outside, then stood up.
“Alright, then we’ll leave tomorrow. Tonight, let’s both get a good rest.”
Baisheng Yun reluctantly nodded.
“Okay, let’s rest early tonight. But don’t tell Huo Tianqing about this, okay?”
Yingying didn’t mind but still nodded.
“Alright, alright, I got it. Let’s set off early, or else we might oversleep and delay our plans.”
After speaking, she quietly closed the door behind her, unaware that a pair of eyes in the shadows watched her intently.
Back in her room, the thought of visiting the hidden paradise tomorrow quickly lulled Yingying to sleep. The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window.
Rubbing her eyes, Yingying washed her face and, after eating, headed toward Huo Tianqing’s room. Excited, she knocked on the door.
“Are you in there? I’m coming in now.”
“Come on in, I’m here.”
Pushing the door open, Yingying saw him busy packing a large pile of neatly arranged items. She raised her eyebrows in surprise.
She hadn’t prepared anything, yet here he was, so thoroughly ready.
“Why did you pack so much? Can we carry all this?”
“We’ll take a carriage. Do you expect us to fly on swords? That would be so boring.”
Yingying considered this and agreed.
“Alright, let’s bring everything then. We’re sure to need it. By the way, how long are we planning to stay there?”
Having Huo Tianqing around made Baisheng Yun feel uneasy. The woman he liked was constantly being watched by another man—it was uncomfortable everywhere.
“We’ll stay as long as we want. Otherwise, what’s the point in going?”
Indeed, if they could have a good time away from home, why not stay as long as possible? There was nothing pressing at home anyway.
After packing, as the two stepped out, they unexpectedly ran into Huo Tianqing.
Dressed in white, he looked like a deity descended from the heavens.
His cold eyes scanned the pile of luggage behind them, then landed on Yingying with displeasure.
“Where are you two headed?”
His tone was accusatory, but Yingying didn’t catch the hint and smiled brightly.
“We’re going to a hidden paradise to have some fun. Baisheng Yun says it’s really amazing.”
Baisheng Yun anxiously ruffled his hair, feeling irritated. Just as they said it, here came trouble—this man was truly a nuisance.
“Yes, we’re going to the hidden paradise. You better not follow us.”
Huo Tianqing shot him a glance.
“Why can’t I come? If you don’t want me, I’ll go anyway.”
Baisheng Yun was furious. This man clung to Yingying like a shadow. He pulled her aside.
“This is just between the two of us. Why do you have to tag along? We don’t want any distractions.”
Yingying sighed, thinking, “Why do these two have to start arguing again? It’s really tiresome.”
Huo Tianqing said, “He’s my disciple. How could I trust him to be alone with you? Who knows what tricks you might have up your sleeve.”
Baisheng Yun laughed sarcastically.
“I think it’s you with the tricks. As a master, who would expect you to have designs on your disciple? Have you no shame?”
Huo Tianqing glanced at him, then turned to Yingying.
“Disciple, do you want me to come along?”
Yingying didn’t mind as long as they stopped fighting. She nodded with a bright smile.
“Of course, master. How could I not want you there? If you want to come, then come.”
Baisheng Yun was fuming beside them. How could someone be such a third wheel? It was a real buzzkill. He grabbed his luggage and strode out unhappily.
Hearing Yingying’s answer, Huo Tianqing looked somewhat pleased and gently ruffled her hair with a smile.
“That’s my good disciple. Remember to stay away from that man. Who knows what he’s scheming? As your master, I worry about you.”
Huo Tianqing had never said so much to any other disciple, but with Yingying, he became unusually talkative.
Yingying, sensing the twisted nature beneath her master’s words, played along. She didn’t want to provoke his fierce side any further.
With gentle warmth, she hoped to soften the master’s heart.
“Of course, master. I’ll listen to you and stay far away from those two. You can rest assured.”
He had never seen her so obedient and was even more pleased. He ruffled her hair once more.
“My dear disciple, let’s go. I’ll protect you all the way.”
Huo Tianqing watched them with wide eyes, jealousy burning within him. He thought to himself, what kind of master is this? Clearly, he liked Yingying but wore the mask of a gentleman. It made him sick to his stomach.
