Chapter 69: The Deputy Leader
One of them wore a full set from the mall and had every buff potion active—a charmer at their peak. The other barely had their gear equipped, possessing nothing but basic health and mana potions—an utterly unprepared charmer. The outcome was beyond obvious.
The instant Zhou Jingchen was control-locked to death, he couldn't help but question his existence. He didn't even know who this so-called High Lady Nuwa was—why had she killed him on sight?
After slaying Zhou Jingchen’s in-game character, Nuwa waited a few minutes. When no thunderbolts struck her down, she burst out laughing with delight. “Hahahahaha! I wasn’t smitten! I’ve found a way to deal with Zhou Jingchen!”
Fuxi was equally pleased. Without bothering to finish Zhou Jingchen off, he immediately messaged the others to share the news.
Now everyone was excited, and it was easy to predict the misery awaiting Zhou Jingchen. Aside from the trio of Su Daji and her sisters, everyone else wished to teach him a lesson. If not for fear of divine retribution, they would have already found ways to torment him.
“Umm, I haven’t learned the resurrection skill yet. You’ll have to revive at the default location…” Yu Qian said helplessly. She knew they didn’t like Zhou Jingchen, but hadn’t expected them to attack him even while grinding for experience.
Wenxiu glanced up, noticing his eager, vengeful look, and spoke up: “They’re all Qian’s elders. If you want to end up never marrying her, go ahead and fight back.”
Zhou Jingchen’s face froze, a hint of petrification setting in. Her elders would be his future elders. He had barely interacted with them, and they killed him on sight—did that mean they already knew about his relationship with his beloved?
The thought brought him a strange happiness. So what if he was killed? As long as they didn’t stop him from marrying his little darling, they could kill him as often as they liked. It was just a game character, after all—dying a few more times hardly mattered.
Wenxiu could read his thoughts in an instant but decided to let it be. Let him think only these two are after him—for now. When the others joined in, he’d understand soon enough.
He’d get used to being killed.
Ignoring Zhou Jingchen, who was now grinning foolishly, Wenxiu collected everyone’s account information and topped up each one with five thousand yuan. The game’s official rules allowed a maximum of five thousand yuan per account per day—no more.
With everyone topping up together and using double experience pills, their levels soared rapidly.
At level 50, Yu Qian suddenly remembered they hadn’t created a guild yet. She quickly logged out to find the NPC Liu Jingqing and apply.
But then—she was prompted for five hundred thousand silver!
She nearly choked—the server had just opened. Where would she get that much silver?
“How much silver do you all have?” she asked the other three.
“Less than a hundred thousand,” Wenxiu replied.
None of the four had even a hundred thousand, barely reaching forty thousand in total. They were still over a hundred thousand short. Yu Qian then asked in the chat, “Hey, how much silver do you all have?”
“Seventeen thousand combined,” Nuwa answered, checking Fuxi’s account before replying.
“Everyone, come and trade me your silver—I need five hundred thousand to build the guild.”
Zhou Jingchen led the team out to meet her, and everyone handed over every last coin they had. Yu Qian barely managed to establish the guild.
She called the team to join and sent out a message: “Hey everyone, your precious one has created the guild! Come join now—there are only fifty spots at the start, first come, first served. The guild is called ‘Six Realms.’”
The gods of the Six Realms responded swiftly—the fifty slots filled in minutes.
Yu Qian set Heavenly Law as the founding elder, Pangu and Fuxi as elders, and assigned the other hall leader and incense master roles to several other high deities and great gods.
As for vice leader, she gave the position to Zhou Jingchen.
Nuwa was immediately displeased. “Why give that brat the vice leader spot?”
Yu Qian paused for a moment before replying, “The vice leader has to manage all the guild’s affairs. Do you want it? If so, I’ll swap it to you.”
Nuwa was shocked. “No, no! Let him have it!”
She played games for fun, not for all that hassle. Giving it to Zhou Jingchen was perfect.
