Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Way of Heaven
Throughout the day, aside from Luo An’an and Su Jiu, the group didn’t take in any more outsiders; instead, they focused on completing guild quests with their own people.
In the evening, the four main members logged off, but the others remained online, busily running tasks. They simply set up a macro to let the mouse repeat actions automatically, and went off to the little paradise to continue teaching Yu Qian and the other youngsters.
Jingwei and the others wore gloomy expressions; they'd finally found a new source of entertainment, only to be forcibly dragged away from their computers for lessons—hardly a cause for joy.
Yu Qian, however, didn't mind. She needed to rest and sleep anyway, so whether she entered the little paradise or not made little difference to her. If she could finish her coursework sooner, that would please her even more.
Ever since she entered the phase of developing her own style, her progress had stalled. The teachers had taught her all they could; when she could truly forge her own path, she would graduate. Now, the teachers had shifted their attention to the younger students, even considering entering Zhou Jingchen’s dreams to give him lessons as well.
Unfortunately, this idea was vetoed by the Celestial Lady of the Nine Heavens. No one was allowed to reveal even a hint about the Six Realms to Zhou Jingchen before he passed the trials.
...
Six o’clock in the morning.
Yu Qian finished a night of practice and was preparing to leave when a distinguished visitor arrived in the little paradise.
The Way of Heaven itself.
His long hair was tied with a jade coronet, his robe black against his pale skin, lips crimson and teeth white. The resplendent beauty of the Way of Heaven descended upon the little paradise with a cold expression, an aura so overwhelming that even gods found it hard to breathe.
Only Yu Qian remained unaffected, breathing as usual.
Yin Xian could not help but notice this obvious favoritism.
Following the etiquette taught by Nuwa, Yu Qian properly bowed and greeted the Way of Heaven. Satisfied with her demeanor, the Way of Heaven’s cold face broke into a smile like a blossoming flower. “No need for such formalities, girl. This old fellow just came to see you.”
The words “old fellow” made Yu Qian’s lips twitch as she bowed. Where was the age in this baby-faced immortal? By the standards of idol-chasers from her previous life, the Way of Heaven looked more like a fresh-faced pop star.
“Give me your phone,” the Way of Heaven said, casually producing a sofa from thin air and sitting down.
Yu Qian hesitated for a moment before handing over her iPhone 7.
The Way of Heaven tapped away at the device, his actions inscrutable. Yu Qian was curious, but dared not lean closer to look.
“All right, if you need anything, just ask me directly. No need to bother with these idiots.” Returning the phone to Yu Qian, the Way of Heaven also made the sofa vanish and disappeared in a flash.
Only after the overwhelming presence of the Way of Heaven had completely faded from the little paradise did Yu Qian dare to check her phone to see what the great one had done.
The moment she saw the chat screen on the QQ app, Yu Qian fell silent.
The first chat was with the Way of Heaven, and the entire conversation consisted of red packets sent from her account to him.
She counted—forty-four red packets.
She didn’t even need to open her wallet to guess her balance was now empty.
She had considered all the possibilities for what the Way of Heaven might do with her phone: perhaps clean up her friends list or add some new functions. She had never imagined that he would simply use her account to add himself as a friend and then send himself every piece of food from her inventory.
[Way of Heaven]: “Tell Wenxiu to make sure everyone in both groups is equipped with one of your phones, a QQ account, a Cloud Blog account, and a TB account.”
Still in stunned silence, Yu Qian received another message from the Way of Heaven.
Two groups, each person with a phone and various accounts. Yu Qian had the feeling that not only the game, but the entire internet, was about to become lively.
No matter how ominous her premonition, when it came to the Way of Heaven’s instructions, she had no choice but to obey.
Immediately, Yu Qian left the little paradise and went to Wenxiu’s room to discuss the matter.
Wenxiu was truly impressive; Yu Qian had no idea what she said to Zhou Jingchen, but by the afternoon, all the phones and accounts were ready.
Yu Qian also managed to restock her supplies.
She sent the first of everything to the Way of Heaven, and only after he gave his approval did she upload the rest, packaged by name, to the group files for everyone to download their own share.
As for the snacks, after sending the Way of Heaven his portion, there wasn’t much left, so she simply distributed the rest via lucky red packets.
Yu Qian felt somewhat despairing.
Now that the gluttonous Way of Heaven had joined in, her original stockpile of snacks was once again insufficient. Thankfully, there were now plenty of shops selling snacks on TB; otherwise, she doubted she could keep up with the demands of both groups.
