Chapter 102: Xiao Yang: I'm Not Interested in Money!

Chen Feng came straight to the point, looking at Xiao Yang. “Mr. Postman, I’m here today to offer you a sincere invitation to join Red Queen Entertainment.”
As he spoke, he pulled a stack of contracts from his bag. “I know you may have signed with Shen Xian’s studio or Ning Cai’s company, but that’s fine. We’ll fully cover any penalty for breaking your contract.”
“Also, we will retain the rights to each of your songs, and you can still share in the royalties. The treatment here will be more than three times what you currently receive!”
Xiao Yang wanted to put his hands on his hips, but he knew he should play his role as the Postman, so he held back.
His expression remained calm, detached in a way that made him seem like an unapproachable master, seemingly unconcerned by anything. “You should understand,” he said evenly, “I can rely on no one. I can do what I like, simply by my own will.”
Xiao Yang picked up the check on the table. It was already stamped red in every corner, the amount field lined with dizzying zeros. “Hmm. Two hundred million a year. Very generous.”
Though the salary stunned him, not a flicker of surprise crossed his face.
With absolute composure he snapped the check lightly and offered what sounded like a maxim. “But I have never even touched money. Money does not interest me.”
Then he tossed the check carelessly onto the table.
Liu Ruyun leaned in urgently. “Mr. Postman, you know the power we have at Red Queen. I know someone of your caliber surely wants his works to be spread more widely. Ning Cai’s company has limits, and cannot really elevate your work to the level it deserves.”
Hearing that, Xiao Yang gave a theatrical glance and said, “Oh?”
There was certainly drama in it.
Liu Ruyun brightened, then continued in earnest. “Ning Cai’s company is in trouble now. They have too many artists, but our company is different. We have dozens of top-tier singers and several kings and queens!”
Xiao Yang let out a low laugh, shook his head, and spoke with drifting calm. “Honestly, I’m not interested in any of that at all. I only need to make my own music. I don’t care about the rest.”
The boy was truly impossible to influence.
Chen Feng had checked Xiao Yang’s background and knew this was a lustful type—five girlfriends at once as well.
“Mr. Postman, borrow a word?” Chen Feng said.
Xiao Yang replied, “No.”
Chen Feng’s breath caught.
No wonder people said that the more gifted someone is, the stranger their temperament.
“Mr. Postman, there’s something I don’t know whether I should say…” Chen Feng began.
Xiao Yang cut him off: “Then don’t say it.”
Liu Ruyun was nearly in disbelief.
How had he ever survived this long?
Was he always this rude when speaking to people?
Chen Feng almost ground his teeth shut.

For all, he was a wealthy second-generation returnee, with family assets running into the tens of billions. He had never been subjected to such disrespect before.
He wanted to end the man before him in a flash.
But he couldn’t—he still needed something from him.
So Chen Feng forced down his anger. “Mr. Postman, if there is anything you want, tell us directly. Whether money or women, I can provide it.”
He had already researched three generations of Xiao Yang’s family.
His father, Xiao Zhengchun—known as the Scholar—was himself a libertine, a notorious womanizer with admirers across the country.
In his prime, it was said that wherever he went, within fifty kilometers he could find a girlfriend.
People said many high-society women in both the capital scene and Hai City had been toyed with by that man.
Now he is restrained at home by his hard, domineering wife; otherwise he would never have settled down.
A crooked beam makes everything below warp; Xiao Yang was no better.
Even while involved with Zhang Doudou, he was also seeing five women at once. Although his record was not as grand as his father’s, it was still shocking enough.
So Chen Feng laid out a direct offer: “Tell me which woman at Red Queen you want, and I’ll arrange it.”
Xiao Yang’s eyes brightened at once. “Anyone?”
Chen Feng let out a relieved breath. Of course.
Everyone has a weakness. How could a man of twenty-five or twenty-six have none?
He felt he had regained the upper hand and smiled fully. “Of course. Here, look.”
From the bag at his side, he pulled out a photo album of artists, full of details: what movies and series each had acted in, what songs they had sung; hosts, talent-show rookies, even newly trained trainees.
Xiao Yang even saw photographs and names of two heavenly queens there.
“If you choose anyone listed here, as soon as you agree, someone can fly over by tomorrow morning to be with you,” Chen Feng said.
Xiao Yang stood stunned.
Was this the entertainment world I have heard about?
Liu Ruyun stood beside him in silence, clearly understanding this kind of rule.
That morning when she had entered Shen Xian’s room early, she had prepared herself for such talk.
“Anyone, any one,” Liu Ruyun repeated.
Xiao Yang rubbed his chin with a wicked smile creeping in and fixed his eyes on her. “Really?”

Chen Feng suddenly looked at Xiao Yang.
He saw only Xiao Yang’s burning gaze, fixed on Liu Ruyun while his hand still stroked his chin.
The expression was as lewd as it could be.
Liu Ruyun jolted. “No. I can’t. Someone else.”
Chen Feng’s eyes darkened.
Liu Ruyun was his woman. For Xiao Yang to speak like that meant he did not consider her at all.
And of course, she would never consent.
Xiao Yang was not as handsome as Shen Xian, and not as handsome as Chen Feng either; if she went with Xiao Yang, wouldn’t it be unbearable?
Besides, she was preparing to marry Chen Feng.
If she had anything with Xiao Yang, would Chen Feng still want her?
So she would never, absolutely never, agree.
“Then say some nonsense and go home,” Xiao Yang said. He turned, bit into a meat flatbread, and flicked his hand as if to take his leave.
Inside, however, he was laughing coldly.
Even if Liu Ruyun were offered to me, I wouldn’t want her.
Who knows how many men have already taken turns with her.
Zhang Doudou may be trashy, but not as chaotic as people in the entertainment world.
I already have five girlfriends. One more would be too much for me to carry.
I’m only taking out my anger on Shen Xian.
Chen Feng watched him with a dark expression; Xiao Yang met his gaze without fear.
Did he want to start a fight?
He was not afraid at all.
In fights, Xiao Yang had never been one to back down.
In that KTV, among the supervisors, which one was not tall and broad-shouldered?
Chen Feng first looked at Liu Ruyun, then at Xiao Yang, and asked seriously, “Mr. Postman, if Liu Ruyun stays here tonight, can we sign the contract?”
As soon as he said it, both Xiao Yang and Liu Ruyun were stunned.
