Chapter Thirty-Three: Impossible to Stop
Fragments of the past flashed rapidly before his eyes. The sniper felt life slipping away at an alarming speed; tears welled in his eyes only to be instantly evaporated by the powerful electric current.
"Aaaah!!"
Suddenly, the sniper summoned all his remaining strength and howled at the sky. He wanted to pour every last ounce of his life into breaking the shackles of fate, severing the chains of injustice, and living for himself—if only for a single second.
"I’ll kill you!"
His bloodshot eyes, already scorched and fracturing, blazed with defiance as he uttered the most rebellious words of his life.
Across the distance, the net gun aimed at Madam Xiao crackled with electric light, ready to fire.
"The ultimate purpose of my life is absolute obedience, absolute loyalty, and to dedicate everything I am to Madam Xiao."
At that critical moment, the sniper suddenly recited this phrase from his mouth.
"The ultimate purpose of my life is absolute obedience, absolute loyalty, and to dedicate everything I am to Madam Xiao."
"The ultimate purpose of my life is absolute obedience, absolute loyalty, and to dedicate everything I am to Madam Xiao."
No sooner had the sniper finished speaking than his two remaining companions echoed the words, unconsciously and automatically.
Struggling to hold the net gun, their strength gradually waned.
The sniper fought desperately, but after years of hearing that voice in his mind, it could no longer be resisted—it had been branded deep within his soul. Even in death, no assassin from the Xiao family could ever kill their master.
In the fleeting moment before his end, the sniper looked pleadingly at Mu You, mouthed something, but could no longer make a sound.
Yet Mu You understood his meaning.
"You know me—help me…"
The electric whip in Mu You’s hand lashed out, sending arcs of lightning into the air. With decisive force, he coiled it around the sniper’s body, helping him escape the high-voltage net, then hurled it fiercely toward Madam Xiao, who sat unmoved like an empress.
Though he knew nothing of the sniper's experiences, Mu You recognized that gaze all too well.
It was the same look he once gave to Mo Han.
"They can imprison your thoughts, but not your soul. Don’t think—just do what you most want, instinctively!"
The rest of Mu You’s words faded into the sniper’s ears. His electrically burned retinas could barely see, yet he still raised his hand, aiming precisely at Madam Xiao.
He had envisioned this moment in his mind countless times, but never imagined that, at the brink of death, his enemy would help him.
"Thank you, stranger…"
With a hoarse voice, the sniper squeezed the trigger.
On the barren ground, a deafening gunshot erupted. Amidst a burst of dazzling light, a mesmerizing "Blue Enchantress" blossomed, radiating an unparalleled brilliance, tracing an astonishing arc toward Madam Xiao, blooming with the proudest flourish of a lifetime!
Lightning blazed, thunder roared.
After firing its last shot, the net gun succumbed to the scorching current, shattering into fragments, venting its light and heat with unprecedented arrogance.
Mu You let the electrified debris pierce him, unflinching, watching the sniper until the very end.
He could face death, even kill with his own hands, but what he feared most was dying in vain.
To sacrifice himself for that decrepit old woman was utterly worthless.
Even a hundred million Madam Xiaos combined were not worth it!
Suddenly, two nets attacked from both sides, intercepting the sniper’s corpse, the exploding fragments, and the net aimed at Madam Xiao.
Seeing this, Mu You’s entire body erupted with murderous intent.
This was the sniper’s dying wish, so casually destroyed by them.
These people—all must die!
In a fury, Mu You unleashed a speed he had never known. He whipped the electric lash at another assassin, then charged in the opposite direction.
Seeing Mu You approach, the assassin discarded the net gun and drew a blade for close combat.
The assassin’s speed and power were exceptional, his blade thrusting at Mu You’s vital points from tricky angles. But he had chosen the wrong opponent—he faced a dangerous death row inmate at full power.
Having survived his execution, Mu You no longer feared even the likes of Lei, let alone a mere assassin.
To Mu You, the lightning-fast attack unfolded in slow motion. He grabbed the assassin’s knife-wielding wrist, preventing any advance, his other hand gripping the man’s throat, halting his charge.
The immense force on both his wrist and neck terrified the assassin, his eyes widening in disbelief—this was not a strength humans possessed.
"A death row inmate from Death Row Paradise, and you dare lay hands—who gave you the courage?"
Mu You’s expression twisted as he spoke, tightening his grip on the knife hand. The sound of bones cracking echoed, and the blade dropped to the ground.
"Warning, warning: Dangerous inmate Mu You is engaging in physical resistance against a Free Person. Cease immediately or execution will proceed!"
Mu You ignored the warning. He crushed the assassin’s wrist to pulp, then began to squeeze his neck.
He wanted these people to face death piece by piece, to atone for their wrongs.
"Final warning: Dangerous inmate Mu You is engaging in physical resistance against a Free Person. Cease immediately or execution will proceed!"
Mu You sighed and released the assassin’s throat.
The man gasped, still shaken, and when his gaze landed on the "Final Punishment" mark on Mu You’s neck, his lips curled involuntarily.
A beast without rights—how dare he put on airs before me? When I get my chance, I’ll grind your bones to dust…
Before the assassin could finish his malicious thoughts, Mu You suddenly punched him hard in the face. A crisp snap signaled the breaking of his cervical vertebrae; the assassin, stunned, fell backward, his face burning with pain, his body below the neck now utterly paralyzed.
"Sorry, I meant to spare you, but the urge to kill just won’t stop."
With that, Mu You picked up the fallen net gun and fired several shots at the assassin still entangled with the electric whip. Several blue flashes later, the target moved no more.
"Dangerous inmate Mu You, warnings ignored, execution commencing. Countdown: ten, nine…"
Hearing the death knell, Mu You felt remarkably calm. Compared to the anxiety of the previous day, he now felt nothing for the looming execution of "Final Punishment."
Madam Xiao’s face changed drastically; gone was her former composure. She had witnessed killings before, but Mu You’s ruthless slaughter of five men and escape, unscathed, was wholly unexpected.
"Madam Xiao, don’t worry—I’m here, and he’s about to be executed. Just withstand these ten seconds, and we’ll be safe."
At that moment, a voice sounded from the human chair beneath Madam Xiao, reminding her that she was still sitting on someone. She immediately stood up.
