Chapter 11: Clinging Affectionately to Ruan Ruan, Caught by Father Gu!
Gu Jinzhou did not believe in ghosts or gods.
He only believed in Ruan Ruan’s coquettish charms.
Fei Rong asked cautiously, “President Gu, shall I come to work tomorrow?”
Gu Jinzhou replied, “I remember you used to work in the marketing department. It’d be better for you to work in a position you’re familiar with.”
Fei Rong exclaimed, “Ah?”
Had she been demoted?
From management to just another corporate worker.
Yet, this was the best outcome she could hope for—she was already in her forties, and without Gu Corporation, she wouldn’t find a better job unless she started her own business. But with a daughter and a grandson to care for, and being the family’s main breadwinner, she wouldn’t have been so frantic to seek out a fortune teller if she had been laid off.
“Thank you, President Gu.”
—
Inside the Cullinan, Su Ruan Ruan sat in the front passenger seat, clutching a fluffy white teddy bear. Her slender fingers danced across the car’s tablet screen.
“Are we going back to the old family home today?”
The “old family home” she referred to was the Gu residence.
Gu Jinzhou nodded. “Yes, we haven’t been back in a long time. The family has been urging me many times to bring you home.”
Su Ruan Ruan’s dark eyes darted nervously. She felt a pang of guilt.
The Gu family and close friends knew of her relationship with Gu Jinzhou, but they had no idea how intimate they truly were.
“What if the family disapproves?” she asked.
Gu Jinzhou’s long, defined fingers tapped on the steering wheel. His narrow, sharp eyes glimmered with a teasing smile. “What do you want to do, Ruan Ruan?”
He hadn’t considered the question seriously, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t listen to her answer.
Su Ruan Ruan’s fingers pressed into the teddy bear’s belly, as if she had dug a hole for herself.
Today was a social disaster, a trap—truly an imperfect day!
“I… I think if they don’t accept it, we should just keep it a secret for now!”
Her words betrayed her timidity.
Gu Jinzhou’s lips curved slightly, an elegant and mocking smile playing across his refined features.
“Do you know what I would do?”
Su Ruan Ruan shook her head, her shy and coquettish face buried in the teddy bear, only her timid, watery eyes visible.
—
With a magnetic, languid tone, Gu Jinzhou spoke evenly, “If my family doesn’t agree to us being together, I will hide you away. I work tirelessly every day to become strong—strong enough to keep you hidden.”
Su Ruan Ruan heard this and remained silent for a long while.
Thinking she was frightened, Gu Jinzhou gently stroked her head and whispered, “Do you really believe everything I say? Am I an idiot? Do you not understand why I work so hard?”
Though his possessiveness was strong, he never intended to imprison her—after all, Ruan Ruan had been obedient since childhood.
“Hiding away isn’t so bad,” Su Ruan Ruan blushed, her sweet, soft voice laced with warmth. “I like islands. If you plan to hide me away, remember to prepare a beautiful little island.”
Gu Jinzhou’s eyes darkened, a wild gleam flickering within. His Adam’s apple bobbed twice.
He pulled over to the side of the road, his large, warm, and clean hand enveloping Su Ruan Ruan’s small one, then booked a room at a nearby hotel.
Before even entering, the ascetic yet handsome man passionately kissed the enchanting, tender young woman as if he couldn’t wait a second longer.
The hallway was quiet, the elevator chiming softly—someone seemed to be approaching.
A rush of overwhelming shame made her tear up, a sweet, sultry moan escaping her lips, utterly seductive to the core.
Gu Jinzhou covered her mouth and led her inside the room.
Tears trembled in the girl’s eyes; shy and hesitant, she cried, saying she didn’t want this—she wanted to go home to the Gu residence.
Gu Jinzhou whispered hoarsely, “Alright, I’ll cherish you, Ruan Ruan, then we’ll go home. Just like last night, okay? I’ll make you feel beautiful and adored.”
Su Ruan Ruan pitifully pleaded no, saying she disliked being intimate in unfamiliar places. Afraid of his wild passion, she sought comfort in his embrace.
Seeing her so vulnerable, Gu Jinzhou planned to simply kiss her once to satisfy himself, but the coquettish girl shamelessly pressed closer to him.
“Relax, Ruan Ruan, your husband is just going to kiss you, be good.”
“Mm, okay.”
A kiss wouldn’t hurt.
Sniffling, her tear-streaked face looked like a delicate treasure washed by rain, obediently sitting in his arms with a sweet smile.
She thought she was off the hook.
But as Gu Jinzhou continued kissing, he gripped her wrist.
He kissed her while slowly removing her clothes, leaving her fair, slender legs clad only in pink socks...
—
After returning to the Gu residence, it was already past dinner time, yet the kitchen still laid out a table of exquisite dishes for the two to enjoy.
Su Ruan Ruan was tired and sleepy; nothing tasted appetizing.
The butler, Uncle Meng, stood nearby and said, “These are all dishes the young lady loves. Has her taste changed? She barely touched her food.”
Though he addressed Su Ruan Ruan, his gaze was fixed on Gu Jinzhou.
Gu Jinzhou leisurely scooped a bowl of soup, his elegant and noble demeanor composed and refined as he explained, “Her taste hasn’t changed; she just ate something tasty on the way.”
—
Su Ruan Ruan glared fiercely and pinched Gu Jinzhou’s thigh tightly.
Unfazed, Gu Jinzhou pushed the soup bowl toward her. “Will you drink it yourself, or shall I feed you?”
Su Ruan Ruan rolled her eyes. “Do you take me for a child? I don’t need you to feed me.”
Gu Jinzhou smirked thinly, teasing, “Weren’t you raised by me from infancy? You even spit up milk on me and ruined several of my favorite white shirts. When you were happy, you’d kiss me all over with drool; when upset, you’d wriggle in my arms like a lively carp with endless energy.”
Su Ruan Ruan’s face flushed crimson as she pinched his thigh harder.
After dinner, Su Ruan Ruan returned to her bedroom, with Gu Jinzhou following her inside.
He was ready to be open about their relationship, but Ruan Ruan was not, so he was willing to wait for her.
But that didn’t mean he would kiss her less or cling to her any less.
Su Ruan Ruan’s legs were weak and trembling; she felt utterly overwhelmed.
Gu Jinzhou’s desire was insatiable but disciplined; he always conserved his energy so he could indulge when he wanted.
Mentally and physically, Ruan Ruan felt she was being played to exhaustion.
She had hoped that living in the old family home would make Gu Jinzhou more restrained, but he clearly didn’t know the meaning of the word “restraint.”
—
Gu Jinzhou emerged from Su Ruan Ruan’s bedroom looking utterly satisfied, and anyone could tell what had happened.
A stern-faced middle-aged man stood in the hallway, his voice sharp: “Gu Jinzhou, come to the study with me.”
Glancing at the pink door of Ruan Ruan’s bedroom, Gu Jinzhou walked firmly into the study.
“Father.”
Gu Changxiao asked, “What is going on between you and Ruan Ruan?”
Gu Jinzhou answered, “Exactly as you saw.”
Gu Changxiao snapped, “Are you an animal?”
Gu Jinzhou remained silent.
“...” Gu Changxiao paced anxiously, his expression grave as he concluded, “You cannot be together.”
A flicker of surprise passed through Gu Jinzhou’s calm, deep eyes—he hadn’t expected his father’s opposition.
“Father, do you think Ruan Ruan is unworthy to be the future matriarch of the Gu family?”
“Ha! You’re the one unworthy of Ruan Ruan. You really know how to flatter yourself! Your mother is on a business trip abroad; when she returns and finds out about this, she’ll kill you!”
