Chapter 14: Turned Around and Bullied—Ruan Ruan, the Little Fairy, Is a Treasure from Head to Toe

Meng Shu saw off Lin Dehai and his daughter.
Gu Jinzhou carried Su Ruanruan on his back and went to find the matriarch of the Gu family.
Su Ruanruan clutched a little bear doll, beaming brightly. “Gu Jinzhou, did you skip a meal? You’re walking so slowly.”
Gu Jinzhou replied, “If I hurry up, can Ruanruan handle it?”
Su Ruanruan’s cheeks flushed.
One day soon, she’d slip some medicine into Gu Jinzhou’s food to silence him! Then sneakily twist his waist, so he’d be in pain all day long!
“Don’t say such things in front of grandma.”
“As long as you don’t make me angry, I’ll do as you wish—fast if you want fast, slow if you want slow.”
His voice was low and hoarse, irresistibly seductive.
Su Ruanruan’s mind stumbled for a moment, seriously considering his words—then realized Gu Jinzhou was full of mischief; she couldn’t trust a word he said!
—
When the matriarch saw Su Ruanruan, her smile deepened. “Come quickly to grandma.”
Su Ruanruan threw herself into the old lady’s arms, acting coquettishly.
Who wouldn’t love a well-behaved, adorable granddaughter? The old lady laughed heartily.
“Ruanruan, sleep with grandma tonight. I’ll tell you stories.”
“Yes, yes!”
Su Ruanruan secretly rubbed her waist; if she kept exerting herself, her muscles would strain for real!
Gu Jinzhou took a sip of red tea and said calmly, “Grandma, Ruanruan isn’t a child anymore. Look carefully; she’s grown up.”
The matriarch had been diagnosed with early-stage dementia last year. Although medication controlled it well and her daily life was normal, memory lapses still occurred.
To her, Ruanruan was still a little girl of four or five who needed stories to fall asleep.
Su Ruanruan said, “Grandma, don’t listen to Gu Jinzhou. I’m still little—I need you to tell me stories.”
The old lady wrapped an arm around her shoulder and whispered, “That man over there, he’s very scheming and hard to get along with. Ruanruan, stay away from him. Don’t play with him; he might sell you out without you even knowing!”
Su Ruanruan nodded repeatedly, smiling so hard she could die.
Gu Jinzhou pinched the bridge of his nose helplessly.
He called over Aunt Wu, who served the matriarch.
“Has grandma taken her medicine today?”
“She took the morning dose but not the noon one yet.”
Su Ruanruan held the old woman’s wrinkled hand softly. “Grandma, do you still remember what flower Ruanruan likes?”
The matriarch replied, “I like camellias.”
Su Ruanruan chuckled. “Grandma, you’re amazing! You do like camellias, but do you remember what flower Ruanruan likes?”

The matriarch hesitated.
She seemed to remember but couldn’t quite recall.
Gu Jinzhou said, “Ruanruan likes lily of the valley.”
The old lady glared at him. “I was just about to say lily of the valley! Why did you jump in?”
She whispered to Su Ruanruan, “Sweetheart, don’t be fooled by his good looks. Men like him are the best at deceiving little girls. We mustn’t like such people, or he’ll cheat you out of everything!”
Su Ruanruan nodded eagerly, playing the part of a little actress, her beautiful dark eyes sparkling as she said, “Grandma, your words are pearls of wisdom!”
The old lady proudly declared, “Of course, I have good judgment!”
Gu Jinzhou said helplessly, “Grandma, do you still remember that I’m your grandson?”
Was it really okay to sabotage his own grandson’s relationship?
The matriarch covered her mouth, laughing. “Of course I remember you, precisely because I remember clearly that I understand you thoroughly.”
Gu Jinzhou was speechless.
Su Ruanruan laughed until her eyes disappeared, joyfully swaying side to side.
After chatting a while longer, the old lady grew drowsy, and the two left her room.
Aunt Wu said, “Young miss!”
She came out holding a fresh and elegant pot of lily of the valley, with lush green leaves and white buds like tiny sleeping fairies, delicate and graceful.
Aunt Wu said, “This is a gift of lily of the valley from the matriarch for you. She wanted to enjoy the blooming with you, but you haven’t been home for a long time, and the flowers have already finished blooming. Luckily, lily of the valley blooms for a long time, so it’s still not too late to appreciate.”
Su Ruanruan held the flowers and murmured, “Please thank grandma for me.”
Aunt Wu said teasingly, “No need for thanks, young miss, you’re too polite.” Then she returned to tend to the matriarch.
A tear the size of a bean fell onto a lily of the valley bud; Su Ruanruan’s nose tingled with emotion.
Gu Jinzhou took out a handkerchief and wiped her tears. “Just a pot of lily of the valley moved you to tears? Ruanruan, you really are a little crybaby.”
Su Ruanruan said, “I feel like I’ve missed out on so much. Jinzhou, if I’ve done many wrong things, would you forgive me?”
“You’re already calling me Jinzhou brother, what else can I do? I’ve been feeding you and cleaning up after you since you were little—there’s no reason not to help you now.”
“...”
Forget it, Gu Jinzhou clearly didn’t understand what she meant.
—
At dinner that night, the Gu household grew lively again as the twins—who despised cats and dogs—came home from school.
But this liveliness had nothing to do with Su Ruanruan.
She was on her period and had stained a pair of underwear that Gu Jinzhou liked very much.
“Gu Jinzhou, are you busy?”
“I have something very serious to tell you. You have to listen secretly.”

“I stained the pair of underwear you like with my period. Come wash it.”
After sending the voice message, Su Ruanruan lay in bed looking weak and ill.
Soon there was a knock on the door, and Gu Jinzhou came in.
He put the pen he was holding on the bedside table—probably having dropped his work to come quickly—and half-kneeled on the bed. His warm, clean hand slipped under the covers to gently touch her soft belly.
“Baby, are you feeling unwell?”
“Just a little.”
“But I can tell you’re uncomfortable. Lie still and rest. After I finish washing your underwear, I’ll bring your meal here so you can eat in bed.”
“Oh.”
Gu Jinzhou went to the bathroom to wash the underwear. Su Ruanruan found lying in bed boring, so she went to the bathroom doorway to watch him wash.
To make it easier to change sanitary pads, she wore a super short nightdress, the purple lace hem barely covering her pert little bottom. Her sexy, fair legs teased the man’s gaze.
Gu Jinzhou glanced twice but remained calm and composed, washing the underwear. After rinsing away the foam, he squeezed some detergent to scrub the bloodstains.
The bathroom sink had a heating system and was very warm.
Su Ruanruan’s waist ached from standing. She tiptoed, resting her slender, pale fingers lightly on Gu Jinzhou’s arm, borrowing some strength to sit on the warm sink.
She had to admit—it was quite comfortable like this.
She didn’t care that the purple lace hem had ridden up to her waist, nor that her smooth, full waist and hips made the man’s eyes redden. After all, she had a golden pass—Gu Jinzhou couldn’t touch her.
“What are you looking at? Hurry and wash the underwear you like. The sooner it’s done, the sooner it can dry. Maybe you can wear it tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Gu Jinzhou’s voice was hoarse and rough. If it weren’t for her period, she wouldn’t be wearing underwear all day tomorrow.
“What kind of attitude is that? It’s your favorite pair, not mine. Are you feeling wronged?”
Su Ruanruan kicked off her slippers and, through her shirt, stepped on the man’s chest with her snow-white foot, like a spoiled heiress teasing her butler. Her self-righteous bullying was a reward in the man’s eyes.
Gu Jinzhou’s gaze darkened with fascination. His sexy, low voice bent close as he whispered, “Not wronged at all. Quite the opposite.”
“Ah?”
He surrendered so quickly—Su Ruanruan scratched her head. How was she supposed to tease him now?
“Well, I’ll spare you today. I’ll think about how to tease you next time.”
Gu Jinzhou grabbed her pale, delicate ankle, his phoenix-like eyes narrowing dangerously. “No need to wait for next time. Didn’t you learn in the office how to trample on my dignity? How about a repeat performance?”
“I won’t!”
“You don’t get a choice.”
In Gu Jinzhou’s eyes—like a sorcerer—little fairy Ruanruan was a treasure from head to toe.
