Chapter 14: The End, and Uncle Three’s Welcome Gift
“Save him!” Uncle Three roared, immediately ordering Pan Zi to prepare the ropes so they could continue downward.
No matter what, they had to find Wu Yu—even if it meant abandoning the original purpose of this tomb expedition!
He did not dare imagine what would happen if his Second Brother learned that, on Wu Yu’s very first tomb raid, he had brought the boy into such a dangerous situation.
Even if Wu Erbai did not come after him, his own mother would probably beat him to death before the ancestral tablets.
“You stay here. I’m going down!” The Little Brother, who had been unconscious, also awoke. He had originally intended to retrieve the Ghost Seal without making a sound and then leave, but after learning what had happened, his expression changed. The moment he finished speaking, he grabbed the Blackgold Ancient Saber and leaped down.
“Pan Zi! We’re going down too!” After hesitating briefly, Uncle Three decided to descend himself.
“Pangzi, keep an eye on everyone up here. If anyone makes a move, shoot them!” Uncle Three handed the gun to Pangzi and spoke coldly.
“Got it, Uncle Three. Leave it to me!” Pangzi’s expression turned solemn. He knew that Wu Sanxing, the famous Third Master of the Wu family, was truly enraged this time.
At that moment, a rope suddenly flew out of the deep pit below. The others hurried forward and pulled it up.
After a while, the Little Brother appeared with Wu Yu in tow.
Seeing them, Uncle Three finally let out a sigh of relief.
“You brat! You nearly scared me to death!” Uncle Three cursed, pulling them up even faster.
“Heh-heh!” Wu Yu grinned. “I never expected the flames to flare up like that. I didn’t think borrowing their momentum would create such a huge disturbance!”
Inside, however, he was marveling.
“As expected of one of the Old Sword God’s signature techniques!”
He had unintentionally borrowed the power of the flames just now, which was what had produced such astonishing force and commotion.
In the original story, when the Old Sword God accompanied the Heir on his second journey and made his first move, it happened to be raining, so he borrowed the force of the water instead.
In other words, this sword technique could draw upon any kind of power to amplify its might!
For example, when the Heir used a saber to execute One Sword, Immortal Kneels, he borrowed the power of the earth.
All in all, the power of One Sword, Immortal Kneels was truly terrifying. By borrowing the momentum of the world itself to face an enemy, it was no wonder the technique bore such a name. Even if immortals truly existed, they might not be able to withstand it.

Moreover, his internal energy was still inferior even to the Heir’s, let alone the Old Sword God’s.
Thinking of this, Wu Yu felt an even deeper longing for greater internal energy.
“I’m a fairly formidable swordsman, yet I’m always stuck in the embarrassing position of running out of mana. Maybe I should just change my name to Fifty-Fifty!”
Hearing Wu Yu’s complaint, the system seemed to understand what he meant. Its tone even carried a hint of amusement.
“As long as Wu Erbai agrees, the system has no objections. It will fully comply with the host’s wishes.”
“Go to hell!” Wu Yu rolled his eyes irritably and ignored the thing.
If he dared say that to Wu Erbai, he would be hung up at the Eleventh Warehouse and beaten for three days and three nights.
“How are you? Are you hurt?” Uncle Three examined Wu Yu from head to toe. Only after confirming that he was unharmed did he finally relax.
“I took a look around. The disturbance was quite large, but fortunately there were no casualties. The village below is far enough away that nothing should happen there. However, someone has definitely gone up the mountain to investigate by now, so we’ll have to take a detour from the other side.”
“Understood!” Everyone nodded. They trusted Uncle Three’s judgment.
But when they were ready to depart, they discovered that the Little Brother and A Ning had vanished without a trace. The group was left speechless.
“All right, let’s go!” Uncle Three waved his hand. “Tianzhen, take care of Xiaoyu.”
“Got it, Uncle Three!” Tianzhen nodded and helped Wu Yu along. Before long, the group disappeared into the forest.
Because they had to take a detour, they spent four full days traveling through the mountains. They did not dare use the main roads. Only after the people arranged by Wu Erbai arrived to receive them did they finally breathe a sigh of relief.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk… Second Brother really does play favorites. I’ve faced danger countless times from childhood until now, and he’s never once shown any concern for me.” Wu Sanshu curled his lips and spoke with exaggerated bitterness.
“Haha, that’s because he knows how capable you are, Uncle Three!” Wu Yu, sitting in the back, could not help laughing.
After entering the city, they ate and drank their fill before collapsing into bed.
Even Wu Yu was somewhat exhausted. After resting for one night, he began another full day of meditation and cultivation.
“Whew! Having that eye on my back always makes me feel uneasy.” After taking a shower, he looked at the pattern on his back in the mirror and sighed. “If Mom saw this, who knows how badly she’d cry.”
“Little Brother, what on earth are you doing? I’ve been calling you, but you never answered!” Wu Tianzhen opened the door with a room card and walked in, only to freeze the next second.
When he saw the strange eye in the mirror, a chill immediately rose in his heart.

“I was cultivating for a while!” Wu Yu hurriedly put on his robe, stepped forward, and shook Wu Tianzhen awake. “Why are you so worked up?”
“Little Brother, what exactly is that eye on your back? It’s terrifying!” Wu Tianzhen blurted out.
“It’s nothing. Just some embarrassing remnants from my rebellious youth. I’d rather you didn’t know about them!” Wu Yu laughed loudly, attempting to change the subject.
“Oh, right.” Tianzhen slapped his forehead. “Uncle Three is dividing up the money. That fatty ran off the moment he got his share. You should hurry downstairs too!”
“Dividing up the money?” Wu Yu was stunned, then understood. “The things from King Lu Shang?”
“Exactly!” Tianzhen grinned. “Uncle Three calculated the value of what we brought back from this trip. He didn’t give me any money, though. Instead, he gave me the entire Lakeside Residence.”
“Well, congratulations! You’ve become a homeowner at such a young age. You’re destined for great things!” Wu Yu laughed and patted Tianzhen on the shoulder.
“Hahahaha…” Tianzhen immediately burst into a carefree laugh as well.
Clearly, he considered it a tremendously happy occasion.
Wu Yu’s smile, however, contained a hint of schadenfreude. Although Lakeside Residence had indeed been given to him, the ink on the property deed probably had not even dried before some large restaurant would take the place as collateral.
“Come on, come on!” Tianzhen dragged Wu Yu toward the stairs.
“I’m changing clothes. What are you in such a hurry for? It’s not as if Uncle Three is going to run away!” Wu Yu laughed. “We took so long this time, and the New Year is only a few days away. Uncle Three will certainly have to return to Shacheng.”
“Oh, right! I almost forgot.” Tianzhen slapped his forehead. “Sigh, I haven’t seen Grandma in ages either.”
Wu Yu smiled. He had no particular impression of the Wu family’s Old Madam, but anyone who could subdue Old Wu and force even the Huo family’s formidable matriarch to concede was certainly no ordinary person.
Sure enough, when they arrived at the private dining room and saw a table laden with food, Wu Yu made no attempt at politeness. After eating his fill, Wu Sanshu finally handed Wu Yu a bank card and a piece of ancient jade.
“Second Nephew, don’t refuse. We’re family, so there’s no need for formalities. Besides, your Third Uncle is just a vulgar fellow, so take this as my welcome gift to you!”
