Chapter 5: Being a Happy Parasite

“Besides, Daddy is so rich. You can earn some pocket money; just think of it as his child support to me!” Fire said boldly, her face full of confidence. This little one certainly loved money and had a knack for making it at such a young age!

Yu Jin was puzzled. Child support? Was Fire crazy about money? She would never dare to ask Dongfang She for child support! Years ago, Dongfang She had put her on a global wanted list. She had fled the country, changed her nationality and identity. If he found out that the woman who nearly got him imprisoned had returned and was trying to claim child support for their son, she could already imagine how terribly she would be treated.

“Mommy, one should have ambitions. You can’t just stay home all day watching soap operas and snacking. That’s not good, really not good,” Fire said, her brows furrowed like a caterpillar, sighing deeply.

Yu Jin was annoyed. What was wrong with watching soap operas and eating snacks? Her goal had always been to be a happy freeloader!

“It’s just applying for a job at Daddy’s company. They might not even want you. AIR Group has great benefits, and so many people are fighting tooth and nail to get in,” Fire reasoned.

“Besides, even if you get the job, it’s just a small assistant position. You won’t get to see the big boss just because you want to, so there’s no need to worry unnecessarily!”

“Also! It’s been six years! No one will recognize you!” Fire spoke with righteous passion, determined to persuade her.

Yu Jin bit her lip and pondered. It did sound quite reasonable.

“Mommy, you’re the head of the family. You need to have a job. Although we have Uncle Charles, he’ll eventually marry and have kids too. Other mothers and sons might get jealous of us.” Fire held her hand and shook it gently, reaching straight to Yu Jin’s heart.

Resigned, Yu Jin sighed deeply and said listlessly, “I know, darling. I’ll work hard to support you. But if you really feel wronged following me, then you can go to your irresponsible father!”

A natural-born actor, Fire put on a tearful expression within moments, yet kept her composure. “Mommy, your baby won’t leave you!”

“Really?”

“Really!”

“Then don’t worry so much. We’ll figure it out when the time comes. I’m so hungry—let’s change clothes and go out for a feast!”

“Again with the eating?”

Yu Jin was speechless.

“We just finished breakfast, watched soap operas all morning, and now it’s lunchtime already?”

“Why not? I’m really hungry.” Yu Jin pouted and rubbed her belly.

Fire’s face darkened, but then she recalled checking the person’s schedule online earlier. A mischievous smile curled at the corner of her lips. She hopped over to the suitcase and pulled out a navy-blue tailcoat, putting it on with flair.

“Is it necessary to dress so formally? We’re only going out for a casual meal.”

Yu Jin looked at the little gentleman before her—handsome, cute, and flamboyantly dashing—and wondered who Fire inherited this meticulous flair from. That man didn’t seem this flamboyant, did he?

“Of course! Every outing in G City could be a turning point in my life.”

“A turning point? Are you planning to be reborn? Isn’t that a bit late?”

“Maybe I’ll run into Daddy today~” Fire flicked her flaxen bangs twice to set them, then turned and blew a flying kiss at Yu Jin.

Her alluring eyes were irresistible.

Yu Jin’s mouth twitched in a forced smile. “Maybe you’ll meet an unscrupulous stepmother~”

Fire stuck out her tongue playfully, looking innocent. “Perfect timing for me to clean house for Daddy.”

“You’d better be ready to clean until your hands cramp.”

“Uh-oh…”

Everyone knew that Dongfang She, the most notorious playboy in G City, was breathtakingly handsome and had countless women at his feet, constantly making headlines.

Even the much-talked-about royal marriage couldn’t tame this butterfly. He was still passionately entangled with young models and singers.
